SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantWith the recent downfall of the lakers organization what are the chances Kobe stays a laker after his 2 year contract is up in 2015. I personally believe Kobe will not retire in 2015 (if healthy). I can’t help but to think maybe just maybe Kobe ends his career in a New York Knicks uniform. If anyone can talk him into taking a reasonable contract for his production it is Phil Jackson and Kobe has a ton of respect for Derek Fisher. He would be 38 years old..the same age as Tim Duncan now. I believe Kobe could be a very good third option for the Knicks and a veteran presence in the locker room. No doubt Kobe knows what it would mean if he, melo and whoever the third/second option is means if they brought a title to NYC.

Lebronda JamesParticipantthe contract is not friendly enough for nyc to grab kobe who is winding down. him finishing his contact and going to ny as a f/a possible, though i doubt. Lakers are going to play through the next two seasons . might make little trades here and there to collect assets but their hopes of contending soon depends on a big name f/a coming to l.a which seems unlikely at this point- LeBronda James

Magic JordanParticipantKobe has always maintained he wants to play for one team his whole career. If he didn’t want to leave after the last few years why would he leave when the most crippling thing to the team… (His contract) is up? He’s not the type to ring chase… He is the type to lead a team… As delusional as he is for thinking he still can is besides the point. Kobe will finish with the Lakers.

LOFTYParticipantDo you not remember in 2007 Kobe demanding a trade? You can’t give me that crap about him not ring chasing. If that Lakers team isn’t competitive he will soon be demanding another one. Had he played this year I’m sure he would’ve.

HuskyWithATarHeelParticipantHe didn’t leave and rather than trading him or letting him walk, management put a championship roster around him they won 2 more rings. Ring chasing means you actually have to go somewhere else for a ring. He put pressure on management and they came through. A little different than ring chasing

MopgrassParticipantIf the Lakers were near the absolute bottom (doubt it), he might demand a trade. The Knicks have Stoudamire, who has a 21 million contract (23 for Kobe). They can be traded for each other pretty easily. It would be an issue of how much the Lakers would get back and if the Phil Jackson would want Kobe on a the books at 23 million for one more year than Staodamire.
