LeFlopJAMESParticipantAfter 1 August ( after draft, trade , signed FA , PGeorge injury& KLove-trade still not happen…) which teams are Up? And which teams are Down?
I will use + (Upgrade) ; = ( same level of last year ) and – ( Downgrade) to explain my opinion…
Atlanta +
Boston +
Charlotte ++
Cleveland ++++
Washington =
Indiana –
Brooklyn – –
Chicago ++
Lakers – –
Pelicans ++
GoldenState =
Orlando +
SanAntonio =
Houston – –

MorseWillParticipantOnce again I would have to say:
Thunder =
and that once again may not be enough to out them over the hump. Seems like their one move away from being able to win it all, and haven’t made the moves to improve each of the past few off seasons

MopgrassParticipantPacers – –
No Stephenson or George is a big deal.
Lakers = or +
Lin, Boozer, and Randle compensate for losing Gasol and garbage.

LAYUPParticipantAgreed. I’m a Celtics fan but Lakers are not only getting Lin and Randle (Boozer doesnt do too much for me) but they are getting Kobe back.

dcaseParticipantAgree with the Lakers either being = or +. I’m not saying they are going to be drastically better, but people have to keep in mind they were probably the most injury plagued team last year. If they stay healthy they will improve on their 27 win season from last year. Plus they got an upgrade in coaching.

XYRYXParticipantWhat about Dallas?
If Cleveland is + + + + and Chicago is + + the Mavs should be somewhere in between and I say + + + ?
I agree about the Thunder progress or lack thereoff. I’m more disappointed from year to year that they are absolutely unable to add veterans to this team aside from 37 year old Derek Fisher. They really don’t need much as they almost have a conplete roster but somehow they just don’t think a player like Marion/Carter/Frye/*insert name* is valuable to them.
When they signed Ronnie Brewer some time ago I was thrilled even knowing he had his prime some time ago but he was basically a non factor for them as he wasn’t used at all. What’s so difficult to give your team a different face and other options from time time time. As an opponent you basically face the same Thunder offensive system every 48 minutes. Dear Presti if you want to be loyal to Perkins be it but just adding the 2 rookies every year isn’t the answer and I love Adams and McGary.

llperezLakers lose gasol, Meeks, farmer, kaman and Marshall
They gain Kobe, boozer, Lin, randle and Ed Davis. I would say they added more then they lost. Only argument for them getting worse then 27 wins is if Kobe gets hurt again or the west is just truly top to bottom better then last year.
