Snatalini247ParticipantSo I see Newman has been excluded from the 2016 mock draft, whatd you guys think about this?

AdamJCallejaParticipantI was pretty surprised, we all know he is a bit undersized at the two guard bit personally I think he is the most NBA ready behind Ben Simmons and Jaylen Brown.

qDizzle32ParticipantYeah I’d have him in the Top 5 for sure. Remind me so much of Bradley Beal. Also way too low on Stephen Zimmerman

caray12ParticipantHe’s Monte Ellis. He’s not a top 5 selection because he’s not a great at anything. But he’s a top 10 pick just because he going to be a big time scorer in college. The top 5 prospects are Ben Simmons, Jaylen Brown, Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk, Ivan Rabb, Cheick Diallo. He’s not Bradley Beal because he’s not a great 3 point shooter.

AdamJCallejaParticipantHe’s actually a specialist at creating offense for himself.

caray12ParticipantI’m saying he just not a Bradley Beal type of prospect that has a lethal jump shot. Yeah, he can create his own jump shot but if he was 6’5 or 6’6" he maybe would be consider a elite prospect because he have elite size. But he’s got below average size with average shooter, and a below average passer. He’s a Monte Ellis type of player that will be ineffectient shooter and will be inconsistent player because he won’t be able to finish through contact and will have to be able to rely to much on his jump shot. Monte Ellis is not a bad player but he’s build like a point guard playing the 2 spot. He’s a 20 point scorer but you probably don’t won’t him be apart of your rebuilding process. I view a top 5 prospect in which you can be major part of the rebuilding process and is a elite potential and a elite prospect.

Lotto StudParticipantWhat’s understood doesn’t have to be explained anymore. I’ve expressed what you are already saying without going too much in depth. Right now you are preaching to the blind, deaf, and dumb according to your thumb meter. No one really takes the time to analyze someone else’s take on a guy anymore. If it’s not the "consensus choice" they hate the opinion.
Just know that I know, you know, I know where you are coming from.

Big_C_KUParticipantNewman reminds me of former Memphis guard DaJuan Wagner. Unbelievable scorer but undersized for a SG. He does have at least inch or 2 on Wagner though.
No Diamond Stone surprised me. Stone is the most skilled in the post of all the big men right now in the 2015 class.

hoopscopParticipantDiamond Stone is missing big time, like first pick. Simmons may be consistent, Diallo has the motor but Stone has the length, girth and low post skills to be considered with the first pick. Actually he is making great strides with his athleticism but some nagging minor injuries are Holding him back right now.

ph90702It’s only July. These mock drafts are a joke at this time of the year. Rashad Vaughn isn’t listed in either the 2015 or 2016 mock drafts. He’s only staying in college for two years at the most.

ncballerA couple of qualms/questions/observations with this mock:
1. I have not seen Jeter play in a while, but he looked like a Ty Walker clone when I saw him play. Has he been exploding lately?
2. Cheick Diallo is good, top 5 good I am not so sure about, he generally struggles when he faces people that match his motor (Eudrice Abedayo had him really frustrated when they went head to head). Would for sure talke Diamond Stone over him.
3. Barring a terrible season, Newman will enter the draft. He has made it clear that is his intention.
4. Zimmerman hasn’t been playing well lately (he and Rabb are still figuring each other out), but there are not 17 better prospects than him in that draft. He is a lottery talent.
5. Justise Winslow should be a lot higher.
6. JP Tokoto will probably be an late first to early second when it’s said and done.
7. Love Brandon Ingram in the top 10, the guy has been nothing short of unstoppable lately and one of Duke or UNC is going to be VERY happy. He recently outplayed Jaylen Brown.
8. None of my observations mean anything haha considering this is all a crap shoot.
