There should be more than enough reason to pick apart Nash, as much as we all did James McAdoo. Nash was highly regarded as a Top 5 selection heading into his Fr. season. Now look at the guy! He’s the master of disguise, by quietly sneaking his way through us all without being mentioned of underachieving.

I say get him! If you felt deceive by McAdoo, you should feel the same here. Get him!

I’m not sure "winning us over" means what you think it means

He’s not winning us over by any means, but unlike McAdoo he’s improved. Mainly as a defender, and unlike James, he has an NBA role.

McAdoo was always and energy/transition player who excited people early on because many could imagine his impact with a jump shot or with a better understanding for the game. He failed to really improve on his offense, and as a result was all of a sudden a 21 year old who was shooting .537% from the free throw line, who had never hit a college 3 pointer in 108 games and 2,696 minutes in a Tarheel uniform.

Raw 21 year old tweener without an outside shot is not an attractive basketball player come draft night.

I think after Le’Bryan’s freshman year, a lot of people really lowered their expecations for him; however, I noticed quite a bit of improvement on the defensive end for him in the past year, in particular. He’s a good mid-range shooter (42.4% on 2 point jump shots) and is less of a tweener. Nash is not a great 3 point shooter, by any means, but he’s better than James, and with Smart and Brown out of the picture, I could see Le’Bryan averaging about 17 points per game and 6 rebounds next year.

I think he’s most likely and early to mid second round pick, but I feel he’s had a more encouraging collegiate career than James McAdoo. His ability to defend the wing and hit a mid range jumper are two translatable skills to go with his athleticism and strength, and if he can improve on some of the success from range that he had as a Soph, then that would vastly help his cause.

Nash could be a Chris Singleton light type player, and while that’s not exactly a singing endorsement, I think he’ll have a better chance at sticking in the league than McAdoo who really doesn’t do a lot well outside of his physicality. It’s all about perception, McAdoo was in most top 10s early in his sophomore year, at that same time, Nash was in the mid 20’s. Both haven’t lived up to their high school hype ( many don’t) but I think Nash does more that will get him looks by NBA teams, and he’s in a perfect opporunity to break out as OSU’s #1 option as a senior.

The post isn’t to highlight any "achievement" on Nash’s part. It’s to highlight underachieving on the court, which turns out to be an accomplishment to the least.

To go in depth for those who do not think for themselves, by taking 1 thing and running with it…

He’s flying under your nose without being criticized as much as McAdoo! Nash’s skillset outweighed McAdoo’s coming out of HS. If no one thinks so, WTH were you looking at from a prospect standpoint?
