Who is everyone’s favorite trio of NBA players?

With Lebron going back home to Cleveland, there’s no more big 3 in Miami. Lebron joined a younger big 3 in Cleveland with Irving & Wiggins (if he doesn’t get traded). That’s going to be a very exciting group of guards for years to come.

My favorite trio of NBA players would be from Portland. Aldridge, Lillard and Matthews. I’ve always been a UT fan, so i’ve been watching Aldridge since his freshman year at UT. With how clutch Lillard seems to play when the game is on the line, i’m always excited to watch him play. I also love how Matthews has always been underrated and plays with a chip on his shoulder.

Bored at work and thought i’d hear everyone elses opinion’s as well, lets hear it…

I’m a Pacers fan and I’m still pretty content with our Big 3 of Paul George, Roy Hibbert, and David West.  We lost Lance, but we still have one of the league’s greatest offensive and greatest defensive rising stars, in addition to an ever-consistent vet who gives them their edge on defense.

Keep keep keep.  Where are we gonna acquire a center of his caliber?  Especially defensively?  We’re a defensive-minded team, so why would we get rid of the anchor of our defense?  Plus Hibber value is the lowest it’s been on a while.  Ian mahinmi is not starting caliber for a team as good as the pacers.  Gotta keep hibbert

Based on how he played almost all of last season there are plenty of centers his caliber and they don’t cost anywhere near as much. If he goes back to his old self then sure he’s great but confidence is a pretty tough thing to get back once you’ve lost it.

Big LeBron fan so LeBron, Kyrie and Wiggins (or Waiters)

But I also like Gasol, Randolph and Conley for their professionalism and clutch play

I also respect Teague, Millsap, and Horford for their under-the-radar personalities and their high quality play

I got to say Durant, Westbrook, Ibaka is probably the Big 3 now. They are the only trio that has a Top 3 player, a top 10 player and a top defensive big man. Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan would be the next closest as arguments could be made for Paul & Griffin being Top 3 candidates. Its just that after Lebron and Durant, there seems to be a significant dropoff to whomever is the 3rd best talent in the league. A better question would be who would you choose to build your team around excluding Lebron & Durant.

The Brow, Paul George, Melo, Paul, Griffin, Love, Aldridge, maybe 20 year old like Drummond, Kawhi Leonard, Westbrook, Lillard,

      Thoughts?

We were building around the players at their age now..I’m building around Anthony Davis. Crazy potential of what he can become/is becoming & he just turned 21 earlier this year.

I’d take either Westbrook or Anthony Davis. Westbrook is super competitive and would sell tickets because of his electrifying style of play. Also Anthony Davis because he is the best shot blocker in the league already and he’s only 21. Crazy two way upside

Not to get too straw-man and misrepresent your point here but I think the obsession with having a ‘big three’ is not all that great. Look what happened to Miami, the problem with having three max, or close to max, guys is you can’t fill out you roster with enough depth. Especially the way mid-level talent guys are getting paid these days (Hayward anyone?).

I think the Spurs just showed us that having a balanced roster is a much better way to compete for championships as it gives you a better ability to continually evolve the team. A big three is a sure fire way to comete for sure but you end up with guys who are too old making too much money and not winning enough.

Having diatribed all that though I’d say mine is Portland, great to watch, though I’m looking forward to the cavs this year and I think the Bucks could be pretty entertaining to watch as Giannis develops.

The pelicans’ Davis, Holiday, and Gordon is intriguing, as well as Jefferson, Walker, and Stephenson of the Hornets.

Interesting that you went with LA, Lillard and Matthews for Portland, OP. I would probably lean more towards including Batum over Matthews.

I’m curious to see how Ellis, Nowitzki and Parsons play with each other in Dallas. Ellis and Dirk kind of flew under the radar last year (Dirk made the All-Star team but isn’t widely considered a top PF anymore) but really carried the Mavs throughout the season and Parsons might be ready to take the next step and approach All-Star numbers.

Well I like George, West and Hibbert as a Pacers fan.

As a fan of basketball I like the combination of Parker, Antetokounmpo and Knight. They haven’t proven anything but I look forward to watching them grow together more than most other things in the NBA at the moment.

I wanna see how good MCW can become and Noel/Joel down low should be very good defensively

Throw in Saric-Wroten-McDaniels-McRae and this team is very interesting
