While I think it’s pretty unlikely that this happens, it’s interesting to say the least.  The problem though, is if Jimmy Butler is included, that leaves a big hole for minutes out of the SG/SF.  The Bulls aren’t very deep or experienced at those two spots.

With questions in the air about whether Cleveland wants to part with Wiggins, why shouldn’t the Bulls make a push for Love?  We all assume Derrick Rose will come back healthy.  Dunleavy, Jimmy Butler, Taj Gibson, Noah, Pau, Dougie Buckets, the Bulls have nice pieces.  The one thing I like about the Bulls over the Cavs is the coach.  I’m a huge fan of Thibs.  I loved the 2008 Celtics championship team and Thibs was the architect of that stifling defense.  He’s a proven coach in the league and his teams play hard.  He holds his playerts accountable on the defensive end.  We all know Dave Blatt has no NBA coaching experience, and the adjustment to coaching in the states will be big.  Thibs has the experience and the winning pedigree.  The Bulls missed out on Melo, but I think they could nab Love.  Also let’s be honest, Chicago and Cleveland….not much of a competition there.

Bulls get: Love, Kevin Martin, JJ Barea

Min: Taj Gibson, Jimmy Butler, Mike Dunleavy, Tony Snell, and a 1st rounder

Does it look good enough for both?

I don’t see this happening because the other deals that are being talked about include better long term prospects in my mind. Gibson and Butler are nice players but I think they have just about hit their ceilings especially considering Gibson is 29 years old. Butler has some room to grow yet but I was expecting a bigger leap from him offensively with Rose out and plenty of shots to be had but his per minute scoring numbers remained around 12 per 36 minutes.

This deal might help Minnesota the best in the short term but it is obvious they should be using Kevin Love to rebuild….not to try to fight for the 8th seed in the West. Andrew Wiggins value is much higher in my opinion especially for a team like Minnesota who should be looking to rebuild.
