Dog_ShammdogParticipantSadly, This years summer league season is over after tonight ,and now all some of these players can do is hope and pray for an invite to vet camp. There were a lot of great performances by big name players and the top draft picks but many less heralded players showed their worth and should be getting picked up/receive invites soon. Eric Griffin already got picked up by Dallas thanks to his relentless effort and jaw dropping athleticism. I want to know who you guys feel played themselves into the league (or atleast camp), and also, what less touted prospects showed out. Eric griffin, Tyler Johnson, James Ennis,Jordan McRae, nick Johnson, Tyler Honeycutt (mixed emotions on him, shaqtin a fool would love him), Ronald Roberts, Casper ware, Andre Dawkins, James mcadoo just to name a few. I didn’t get too in depth on this but I did watch darn near every summer league game and was pleasantly surprised by a number of players. Who were you pleasantly surprised by? Who was undervalued going into the summer league?

DaGuywhodidurmaParticipantJordan clarkson put up 17 pts 5 rebs and 42% from 3 and was the reason why the lakers were comfortable waiving kendall marshall. He played himself into making the team and potentially playing behind lin depending on Nash’s health.

llperezYeah, clarkson was the best player on the lakers team and has a terrific looking jumper and is very confident in himself. He outplayed Marshall and basically took his roster spot.
A couple guys I saw that looked real good were justin holiday for the warriors and a guy I didn’t get to see play but noticed he put up numbers was Brock motum. Both should get looks from teams.

wuteverParticipantGlen rice Jr and Otto Porter Jr. Gonna be fun to see how they are entered into the rotation with Ariza gone and Webster hurt.

GlenTaylorSucksParticipantIsiah Canaan, Nick Johnson, and Donatas Motiejunas are going to give management a huge sigh of relief after letting Lin go and having their plan to sign Bosh & Parsons backfire.

Dog_ShammdogParticipantI really think Jordan McRae did well for himself to say the least, I just fear that he could get lost in the mix on the sixers. Tyler Johnson repeatedly outplayed shabazz Napier but Miami has a bit of a log jam at back up point. He rarely made stupid plays and was physically dominant over most of the point guards he matched up with. I’d be dumbfounded if he didn’t make a vet camp. Clarkson looked great as well, he should contribute right away if the lakers have any foresight. Russ smith came out and showed a completely different game than he did in college. I like players that are cognizant of the roles they fit into and have the understanding of the game and overall skill and athleticism to fit multiple roles. Honeycutts an nba player if he could get it together in between his ears (boneheaded plays often)

benny15Participanti was. burton was the highest player on my mock to go undrafted which i thought was a mistake but evidently i was wrong. it could work out for the best, the adversity can make him work harder and become a better player. i just thought a guard with his physical gifts would have been more impresive.

RUDEBOY_Participantplace me in the column of people disappointed in burton….
burton was outplayed in draft workouts and stunk it up in summer league averaging 1 pt/1rb/15% fg in 16 mpg..overall a poor showing for someone that was passed over by every nba team, not once but twice by some teams……i thought he would come out and play with a chip on his shoulder…
but he appeared lost on the court and indecisive…it seemed like he was trying to be a playmaker, defered too often to other players…. and he wasnt the attacking scoring threat he was his senior year….
