hbomb3300ParticipantI realize this has been brough up in the past but I’ve done some searching and come up with what I think are the only realistic options for them. Also, I know Varajo can play center but with his injury history and age they defenitly need another option. I have listed them in the order of my preference. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
1. Ekpe Udoh- free agent who can most likely be had for the league minimum. He would be a solid rim protector while offering solid athleticism and decent finishing ability.
2. Hasheem Thabeet- this is assuming the Thunder don’t exercise the team option, but he could be a nice option at the bottom of the bargain bin. Great size, good rim protector, and I think he has developed into a decent NBA player.
3. Emeka Okafor- I really like him as a player but his age and injury history are scary. If the medical team gets a good look at him and doesn’t find any major lingering issues I’d be on board.
4. Aaron Gray- Good size, veteran experience, not much of an athlete though

JJ_PRParticipantI’d like to see us go after Emeka Okafor. Udoh has had knee issues in the past, Thabeet is too slow and Gray already signed with the Pistons.

ExumInfernoParticipantOkafor would be a good idea for the Cavs, and if Okafor was smart he would try to find a contender even if it meant less money. Why get a bit more money to play for someone like the Magic when they could have a chance to get important minutes in the playoffs for a contender.
LeBron will play some power forward there, so the Cavs may not need a huge lot of center minutes. Varejao, Thompson, Haywood, Powell, they have a few options right now for the center spot. Varejao is the hustle player, Thompson rebounds, Haywood has bulk.
Not sure Cleveland wants to hear this, but A Bynum is around and G Oden is too. Udoh would be a good defensive option, plenty of blocks.

220ParticipantOkafor seems like the best option of the players you listed.
If the Cavs end up trading Andrew Wiggins to get Kevin Love then they should ask for Gorgui Dieng as well. It would make a significant difference for the Cavs to add Dieng since the Cavs have a clear lack of size. I doubt the T-Wolves would give Dieng up, but it’s worth asking if they have to deal Wiggins.

IhateusernamesParticipantThabeet would be perfect. They don’t need scoring from him, he can do what he does best. Be 7’3".

hbomb3300ParticipantExactly… and I think he’s matured enough as a player where he won’t make a bone headed play every time he touches the ball.

bmac697ParticipantOKC will pick up his option. For the money you wont be able to find a better third centre with his size. Maybe that Indian prospect I believe SAC signed whose 7’5. Hes also Canadian which is awsome, watched a video on him, seems to have some potential at least.

trelos6ParticipantSorry, Sim Bhullar is a scrub. He will foul everytime someone drives at him. Maybe useful for 6 fouls as a 10th man, at best.

vulture711ParticipantHawes would have been a great fit and he played well there – but he signed to be a backup in LA
You know, Henry Sims, who was languishing on the Cavs bench showed he could play during his time in Philly. He’d be a good re-aquisition or Philly should sign him
