    D. Wade returning to Miami was never a question. The questions were for how long and how much. 

    Looks like he’ll sign for 4 years and earn a salary starting around $15 million. Thoughts?

    Looks like deal is actually going to be for 2 years @ $34 million. He’ll have opt out after first year.

    Wade is not the player that he was like in 06, it’s broken down Wade we are talking about here.

    I’m not sure who they’re bidding against but looks like he only lost around 6mil after opting out, not bad for him.

    there arent many players that would leave 12 million dollars on the table…especially after knowing their history with injuries,age,decline in play and struggles in the finals..

    i’ve heard alot of people suggest he shouldnt be given a deal higher than 10 mill a yr….but this is the 2nd time he’s taking a paycut to help the team and the team is showing they are loyal,by giving him this deal..

    and people seem to have 4gotten that he averaged 19 pts/4ssts/4rbs and 55%fg a career high…and 17 pts in the playoffs..

    i cant wait to see miami play the cavs…..

      ESPN first reported the deal would be four years $60 million. Then they edited the article a few minutes later after the AP reported from an anonymous source it was for two years $34 million, with a player option for the second year. I would’ve edited the original post, but it was too late. 

      Now, the AP has pulled back it’s reporting. So all that’s clear now really is the deal is for two years.

    He is obviously overpaid, but he also saved them money by opting out.  He’s given so much to that franchise over his 11 year career, and has been such a huge part of their success over the years.  I don’t have a problem with the deal.

     I disagree w the whole paying for loyalty thing. Guys get paid what they’re worth I their prime. Teams should not feel obligated to pay players based on past performance. Unless said player is still dominant, as Jordan was at 35,36.

    Wade only earnt $3mill when he led them to a championship and if you look he hasn’t really earnt $20+mill like most stars. He also brought Bosh and James to Miami to win 2 more championships. How can you really put a price on that ?

    This is one case where I feel he deserves to get paid more than he is worth. He has pretty much been underpaid his whole career…..
