much for Love.
LeBron can opt out after this year, and if Love is not traded the Cavs have enough expiring contracts and the 10.5 non guaranteed of Brendan Haywood that they can straight out sign Kevin Love as a unrestricted free Agent and then sign LeBron to a new long term Max contract.

TimberTrollParticipantLebron would still have a cap hold of over 20 million. The way they would most likely get under the cap a significant amount would be to renounce their rights to free agents Varejao and Thompson, and then to trade Bennett for a draft pick.

as long as they do before Kyrie’s contract extension becomes official, if they deal away Haywood and let the other no body contracts expire.

TimberTrollParticipantEven if they delay on the official signing Irving will still have a cap hold of approximately 14 million. Even at that number the Cav’s would have to clear the amount of space that I already specified. Kevin Love being a 7 year pro – come next free agency – will be able to command 30% of a teams salary cap; at least 19 million and likely even more.

redheadedbastardParticipantI don’t see Varejao going anywhere now. He is Lebrons boy and has Haslem like untouchable status now.
