Obviosly Miami takes the biggest hit by losing James and Bosh and too late in free agency to properly replace. They piece together solid 40 win season with Brooklyn but left just short as no teams under .500 make the playoffs. Detroit, Boston, Philly, Orlando, Milwaukee are bottom 5 going not asset acquiring mode.

Here are my general thoughts about your post

Firstly, this hurt my eyes. So many players names in the one paragraph haha.

So you have Miami losing LBJ, Bosh, Allan, Anderson and still think they are a 40 win team. Their starting line up would be something like Jack-Wade-Granger-Mcroberts-who is there centre? With a bench of Waiters-Cole-Napier-Ennis-rest filled with FA signings. If your scenario happens no way on earth do they win 40 games.

The West does get stronger as well though. With Bosh signing with the rockets (most likely destination if he leaves) they become surely the favourite for the Championship.

Pacers have signed CJ miles to a 4 year 18 mil deal, so I think Stephenson leaves.

I am just not sure what you have outlined will make it more equal. I feel like what you have said that there will be a clear difference in talent and competitiveness. The 76ers, Magic, Bucks and Boston will be pretty bad I think. Detriot will also struggle to get past .350. Further if Heat loses all these players, they will join this crop of bad teams. So you will have 6 teams who will struggle to get about .350% Then you have Charlotte, Atlanta and Toronto who will make the play offs but kind of mediocre (I feel like the Raps will slip from what they did last year).

Then you will have 3 clear teams who are head and shoulders above the rest, that being Cleveland, Indy and Chicago. I have left New York out as they are a massive wildcard. They could be very good or very bad. Washington also could make the next step into the top 4 in the east but I am not prepared to put them there.

This is not parity, parity means equal. I see no equality in the East under these assumptions. I see a lot of awful teams, I see a couple of good teams and a few mediocre one’s.

Compare this to the West where there will be only one or two bad teams and most teams will be seriously competing for playoffs spots all the way down to the 12th spot in the conference.
