Reportedly punched a high school kid at a YMCA pick-up game in Durham and charged with assault. After saying all the right things during the pre-draft process, talking about humility, and learning from his mistakes, and being a given a second chance by being selected in the first round of the draft byt the Hornets…..this looks absolutely terrible for PJ. Now we all know tempers can flare up during pick-up games. Most of us on this site have probably been there. PJ needs to know he is under a microscope with his past trangressions and just be smarter. I don’t know what will happen with the courts and proceedings after this incident, but PJ might be in trouble with his professional basketball future.

Apparently the state police knew nothing about the incident, where exactly did the media get the information about this from?
"Hairston’s agent, Juan Morrow, says the unidentified player was over-aggressively playing Hairston, leading to a shoving match. Morrow says the player "took a swing at P.J. and P.J. swung back."
Is there really any problem? There is no information about anyone pressing any charges or anything.

Joking… But he’s an idiot… The kid said that YCMA cameras will back up his story that PJ just punched him for no reason… He didn’t swing on PJ or escalated the situation… PJ’s agent confirmed that PJ did punch him, so I’m guessing the 17 year old will sue… As he should… You’re a pro now AND just got another chance… What’s the point?
Also, another guy there said he is a big fan of UNC and PJ.. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing… That wasn’t the first altercation that day with PJ either… Regardless of how heated it get or not… You don’t put your hands on somebody, that’s assault…

I get it tempers can get out of hand during pickup games but too swing on a minor at the y come on man sumtimes punches among adults do happen ive got hit before playing pickup ball and had too defend myself but too hit a kid smh
