rileymcshea3ParticipantI’ll be the first to say my trades suck, but here me out here. Pacers are looking to shop Hibbert, and the we’ve all heard the Rondo trade talks. I think Hibbert would be a great fit next to Kevin Love and Rondo would be a grat fit on the Pacers. Also Lance Stephenson is a free agent. Now lets put it all together
T-Wolves Trade: Nikola Pekovic,Kevin Martin, J.J. Barea and 2015 1st
Recieve:Roy Hibbert and sign-n-trade for Lance Stephenson
The T-Wolves dont lose much while adding a defensive presence next to Kevin Love. While getting Lance Stephenson which could be the deal breaker of the trade if he doesn’t want to sign with the Wolves.
Pacer Trade:Lance Stephenson(free agent), Roy Hibbert, and 2015 1st
Recieve: Rajon Rondo, Kevin Martin, and Nikola Pekovic
Pacers get a elite PG that can run the offense while still being a good defender. Pekovic fills in at Center and brings more consistent offense that was needed last year. Kevin Martin gives them a scorer that can start at sg or give him that 6th man role and start George Hill with Rondo.
Celtics Trade: Rajon Rondo and Kelly Olynyk
Recieve: Zach Lavine, Enes Kanter, J.J. Barea(expiring contract) T-Wolves 2015 1st, Pacers 2015 1st
Celtics go in full rebuild mode and get Lavine who has a high ceiling. Enes Kanter gives them a young center that they desperatly need. Barea is a expiring contract and they get 2 first rounders.
Jazz Trade:Enes Kanter
Recieve:Kelly Olynyk
At first was going with Sullinger in this deal, but Olynyk makes more sense. Jazz switch a center that can’t play with Favors for a guy that would compliment Favors perfectly. Now they have a 7 foot stretch power forward that gives Favors space down low and driving lanes for Trey Burke and newly added Dante Exum.

festar35ParticipantFor this to work for Indiana they would have to move George Hill, Chris Copeland and realease Luis Scola otherwise they would be over the luxury cap by quite a lot.
For Pekovic, Martin and Rondo that would return $31mil and they currently sit at $74mil without Stephenson even signed and Hibbert would only free up $15mil, to make the difference the Pacers would move Hill ($8mil), Copeland ($3.1mil) and Scola ($4.5mil) that would free up $30.6mil. Putting Indiana at $74.5mil ish.
Not to poke holes in the above suggestion as I would love to get hold of Rondo and Pekovic (Martin wouldn’t be all bad either).
Indiana would have to trade 2016 pick as you can’t trade consecutive picks. I 100% see that this would benefit every team.

rileymcshea3ParticipantYeah I didn’t take salary into consideration bc the trade machine isn’t showing contracts since it’s off season.I knew the salaries would be off a little, but I didn’t know by that much. I like what you came up with to even out the rosters though. It’s a complicated trade, but I really think this trade benefits each team in a positive way

ballislyfe25ParticipantThe best way for Minnesota to keep Kevin Love would be to try and get another all-star caliber player to come there. It seems as if the Celtics will be trading Rajon Rondo this year, being that he likely will not re-sign with them if they choose to enter a full blown rebuild. The T’Wolves can offer anyone on the roster, aside from Love, along with current and future picks to Boston. If the Celtics can grab Ricky Rubio, Gorgui Dieng, Zach LaVine, and maybe Shabazz Muhammad, along with picks, who says no?
The Celtics get young NBA players with room for improvement, propsects with potential, and future assets. Minnesota makes both Love and Rondo happy, pairing them together along with any left over players, be it Kevin Martin, Corey Brewer, and Nikola Pekovic, or a bare roster that can be rebuilt and is attractive for veteran players.
I understand this is a long shot to happen but realistically I think all parties involved, teams and players alike, come out winners.

King CaluchaParticipantWhy would Minny trade so much for an older version of Rubio?
0- Posted on: Mon, 07/07/2014 - 5:07am #932677
ballislyfe25ParticipantThey need to put together an attractive offer to the Celtics. Danny Ainge isn’t going to just give his all-star point guard in his prime away for nothing.
And calling Rondo an older version of Rubio is pretty unfair. Until I see Rubio drop 44 points against the 2012 Miami Heat and be a key cog on a championship team/contending team, I don’t think it’s fair to say that about these two players.
Even so, wouldn’t trading an older version of Rubio for the younger one be more attractive for Boston and Minnesota? Both teams come away as winners.

UnbiasedObserverParticipantThis is a horrible trade for the Celtics they get rid of a star point guard and a very good and improving stretch four in Kelly Olynyk for what exactly? A bunch of garbage and a couple first round picks? Just no. You are highly overvaluing Zach LaVine. Kid is decent but he won’t be anything special.

ballislyfe25ParticipantSo the Celtics are better off letting Rondo walk for nothing after this upcoming season? And LaVine is just one piece of the deal.
I never said anything about Kelly Olynuk, literally did not mention his name once. So that makes two things wrong with your statement. Actually read what was written before responding.
