valentineI know that he has character issues I know that don’t want to spend money on a big free agent.
This season will suck big time why not go out and get lance for 1 season it a put fans in seats and give the small minded fans who don’t understand the major plan a reason to shut up.You can always cut ties with him anytime during the season and get assets back and he gets his payday and can be a headline in another big free agency summer in 015.
soon as he acts up ship him out. lets say we get lin also in a deal with hou with a couple picks.
now you have lin and lance if you want to move them at the deadline you could who knows what the season a bring and what teams want to make a push.
if lances pan out for the sixers we would have a 6’6 a huge 6’6 sg and a 6’11 mobile center this season
not factoring in any other players coming over or already on roster with that can of size you switch on every pick and roll and it still wont be a mismatch.essentially eliminating a reason to run a pick&roll if its not going to net a mismatch or open shot.
they would have size and versatility. I think lance be a good investment for one season.
it would bring fans in for a depressing season.0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/06/2014 - 7:52am #932474

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantUhh so pay lance the max till he has character issues and trade him for half what you paid 40 games later
that makes sense.

BallinAIstyleParticipantWhy in the world would "Lance" want to come and sign on to such a horrible team like Philadelphia for one year? I wouldn’t mind the Sixers signing him but if we are going to sign him lets make him part of the plan for the future..that being said I doubt he is part of Hinkie’s plan..

Pistol Pete. The PelicanParticipantTechnically Lance is 6’6", he’s 6’4.5 barefoot, and 6’5.75" with shoes on, MCW is 6’4.75 barefoot, and 6’5.75" with shoes on. Lance was also 19 which means he could have grown since then, last year MCW was measured at 22.

NeggedNoelSariche wants to get paid nobody said a 4 year deal and you have to spend a certain amount anyway you just cant start a season with a whole bunch of cap its a certain amour u must spend.so why over pay the players u have when you can add lance. I doubt lances cares where he goes as long as he gets paid he has been on a bs second round deal.
all im saying if were are going to spend the money anyway why not get lance? then sign journey men who don’t deserved to be over payed but will just to fill the cap requirements.
that makes sense?hinkie is known for bold moves and what problems would he really have in philly? other then trying to put up career numbers as a starter . its not going to be to much spotlight on them this season they can take lins contract and a asset but cant sign lance?

christebasParticipantIndy is the ONLY team in the NBA who offers the type of support system Lance Stephenson needs. He’s at times, emtionally eratic, immature and a bad teamate. The only reason he got this far (after throwing his g/f down a flight of steps 4 years ago) is there’s a ‘tough love’ support system in Indy primarily led by David West and Larry Bird that keeps in him check. Just think about this for a moment…. Lance knew this was his walk year and during the NBA finals he displayed some of the most immature and erratic behaviour I’ve seen from an NBAer in a long while. If he was able to control his emotions and do nothing but play, he could of easily supported a 12 mil per year deal with a number of teams. However, the NBA knows at large he’s a potential cancer in the looker room and certainly not a leader. Before he had the guaranteed money he was blowing in Lebron’s ear, what’s it going to be like if someone gives him 40mil 4 years????? I wouldn’t touch Lance Stephenson with a ten foot poll if I’m an NBA GM. Ultimately the only team I could see offering more might be Dalllas or Charolette, but that’s still a long shot. He’s the next coming of JR Smith but probably worse as Lance has proven to be a bad teammate. At least JR leaves it all on the floor.

NeggedNoelSarictrue I agree I have been following lance since ciny I know about his stupid ways.
but the playoffs series against LeBron was overblown if it was any other player it wouldn’t have been such a big deal.yeah you don’t touch lance with a 10 feet pole because of his baggage understandable but understand this also he will scrorch your starting sg more times then not if giving the green light . To not be a first second or third option on a team he has put up good numbers. Sg may be the weakest postion in the league lances brings so much to sg toughness, ball handling , penetration , winning attitude,(crazy) but leadership as in direction ON THE COURT, improved 3 point shooter ,size, rebounding , defense , HEALTH. how many 2s bring that night in and night out.
I don’t like when ppl say lance is a bad teammate he and David west are both the heart of the pacers.
lance did all those things yes BUT WHERE WHERE THE CRITICS WHEN HEAT PLAYER SET OUT TO HURT AND INFLICT PAIN ON LANCE.
its a difference between pushing buttons and inflicting injury.
heat players have clotheslines, elbowed, etc all lance ever did was taunt and stand up to the heat players they had it out for him a while and no one says anything but hes the problem. its a difference between a soft slap and a elbow to throat, face, mouth etclance should go to philly like I said I don’t think he can get into much we all make mistakes he likes females “ALOT” that’s the only thing we have to watch out for no more escorts lance
heats goon go free lance is the bad guy

To each is own, but you’re being way too criticial.
Lance Stephenson allegedly pushed his girlfriend down a flight of stairs. The case was dismissed four years ago. He wasn’t charged with a single thing. Not only has he not been in any off of the court trouble since, his name hasn’t even come up.
I’m getting tired of people over criticizing his character. Why? Because he blew in LeBron’s ear? Because he got in a Miami Heat huddle? Because he stole some rebounds from Roy Hibbert’s soft ass and overdribbled at times? Because he flashed a choke sign to LeBron years ago? Because he trash talked LeBron? How do these things make him a bad teammate and have questionable character?
Here are the facts. Lance Stephenson still lives with his parents. He’s a great father to his child. His second home is the basketball gym because he’s always there. When he’s not in the gym, he shows his face around the city consistently (positive gatherings and not the strip club). He’s at damn near every Indiana Fever game and has even participated in on court promotions. He’s only the 12th highest paid Pacer (averaged $850K per season last four seasons), but yet helped high school kids get tuxes and dresses for prom. During the last home game of the season (fan appreciation), he stayed out on the court longer than any other Pacer and probably gave away 50 pairs of shoes, signed a ton of autographs and then stayed to give interviews to the media. He has a camp that he actually participates in with the campers. He’s a fan favorite.
Has he been immature? Sure, but who hasn’t? He’s shown significant growth as a player and as a person. He’s worked hard, paid his dues and he deserves to get paid whether that’s Indiana or somewhere else. Criticize Roy Hibbert’s character. He’s the one who disappeared and basically quit on his team.
