CanadianGMParticipantAs Lowry and Gortat resign with their former teams, I have to say- what makes The Heat think that free agents should come and take way less to play in South Beach. There going to overpay Bosh and Wade for past success and if they won take less than market value, than why should anyone else. Lebron is a max guy and one reason free agents will take the veterans minimum to play with. Now that San Antonio exposed them and they are no longer the favorites Bosh and Wade need to sign for slightly below marke value to get an addition and quickly as there are not many game changers left that should entice Lebron to stay.
Chris Bosh is worth probably 15 million per year for a couple more years before his game starts to decline. With him taking biggest sacrifice I would give him the 5 Year contract for 60 million. Wade is worth slightly less as he may only play 75% of games and is going downhill. 4 years 50 million is generous. This will show Lebron and other free agents that Miami is serious about making the sacrifice to get to the championship again and entice them to sign there veteran minimum contracts.

r377ParticipantVeterans won’t want to take a pay cut to finish second. There is a reason why there have been talks between Rashard Lewis and the Spurs.

frogmanParticipantSo the Spurs have already won next seasons title? Can’t get much better than going to a team that has been in the finals for the last 4 years

CanadianGMParticipantObviously if Miami can’t bring in a Gasol. They are likely to beat the heat but there is far from a guarantee that they make it there. The West has teams that match up different and they are not a team that historically comes Bach as strong after there past four championships. A healthy Thunder team that is huungrier can beat them. The Mavs pushed them to 7 games and the Clippers, Rockets are all there. I like them to repeat if they make it back to the finals but I still take the field in the west.

JoeWolf1If Miami brings back the Big 3, I feel their only appeal for free agents would be to be a potential landing spot for a 10+ year vet without a ring.
I don’t think a young guy, or a player in their prime would sacrifice their market value, or potential long term finacial security, to join up in South Beach. They’ve won two rings, and been to four straight finals, but they’re not the only team capable of winning it all.
I think any major free agent that would come into Miami would have to be a personal friend of one of the big 3 to take a pay cut. Miami’s flexibility with Lebron at the max, and Bosh getting 90 M are pretty abismal.
They could NOT take a pay cut with OKC, LAC, or some other contender and still have a decent shot at a chip…

drpg913ParticipantI think this dream of a paycut has all but ended. Lebron doesn’t seem to want to take a paycut Bosh doesn’t seem to want to take one either. So someone is the odd man out. maybe the Heat just cuts there losses and lets everyone walk except Wade and tries to patch around him.
In all honesty I have no idea whats going to happen with the Heat.

Hacker90ParticipantWill be in HUGE trouble if they let everyone walk and only keep Wade. If they decide to let everyone go and only keep one of the big 3, better be Lebron if they want a chance to keep winning. I don’t see Miami letting Wade walk honestly, although I also thought Paul Pierce would retire a Celtic. Who knows what will happen, have to wait and see.

LOFTYParticipantMiami has no say in where wade goes. they cant keep him unless he wants to. as it stands all 3 can leave even if Miami wants them to stay. I honestly think if LeBron is gone the other 2 are gone. they want more rings and it wont happen if LeBron is not there.

BA30ParticipantI don’t know where their minds are at, but I think Miami has a shot at both these guys. Other guys I think are possible are Sefolosha, Andray Blache. These guys wouldn’t really have to take big pay custs. Ed Davis is a possibility. If I were Miami I would target 1 shooter, probably Anthony Morrow and fill the rest of the roster in with the guys listed here. They could probably only get 1 of Ed Davis or Anthony Morrow with the money they likely have available.

dborlackParticipantPg:Napier, cole, jameer Nelson (lives in Florida wants to win)
sg: wade, Allen, sefolosha
sf: James, nocioni, Francisco Garcia/Richard jefferson
pf:bosh, haslem, bonner
c: okafor, Cole Aldrich, Elton brand
all are cheap substitutes looking to win now at veterans minimum
