The8thDeadlySinParticipantHe’s out in Chicago. Gotta think a lot of people will be on the phone for him. OKC could use him if the price is right.

GrandmamaParticipantTo the OP, I don’t see a lot of teams being interested. Especially contending teams. If any GM’s watched him last year, they know he is beyond past his prime. He’s about as poor a defender as there is, average rebounder, super soft around the rim, can’t finish around the rim. The only way he ever scores is on lucky putbacks, or his ugly fade away 12 footer. He was one of the most overpaid players in the league, and will not help any contending team win it all. I see him signing with some bottom feeder who can only snag him b/c they can’t snag anyone else of value.
Ask any knowledgable fan, especially Bulls fans, and they’ll say the same thing.

frogmanParticipantFor the price he could be had at I think you will find a lot of contending teams will be contacting him. Was he worth 17 mil this season? Of course not. Will he be worth 4 or 5 mil this season? Definitely. He can be had on the cheap since the Bulls will be giving him 17 mil this year for playing for another team.

bmac697ParticipantOkc for the mid level, of they can’t sign gasol? At least he can score some points downlow I 100% agree he’s a defensive liability, but okc can use his scoring for first 3 quarters or whatever he’s got left

Chilbert arenasParticipantAdvanced stats hate him so count out Houston. I personally don’t think he’s even worth the mid level at this point but wouldn’t blame a team if they gave it to him.

SmooveKRYPTParticipantIf he gets amnestied it’s an auction where teams under the cap can bid for him. In that case he could be had for probably like 4-5 million for the year. There’s definitely some teams who could use him at that number.

hooverballParticipantHe isn’t as good as he used to be so he needs good offense around him so he can get his buckets within the rhythm of the offense. He is a solid 3rd option and a great 4th or 5th option. He can score as long as the defense can’t key in on him. Not a go to player, but can still be productive in the right situation. Needs length next to him in the front court.

omphalosParticipantCould fit in well with the Pacers. He’s a mid-range shooter so he’ll spread the floor like West does, and he’s never been a problem in the locker-room.

mrhancocParticipantBoozer could be that dude thst ends up in a MIA Heat uniform as a result of amnesty, I know Heat Haters don’t want to hear that but with a potential lockout coming MIA Heat could be a good place for Boozer to sign for 2yrs and a 3rd year player option……..while still getting his 16 mill from CHI Bulls. All still depends on what Lebron does

ditotayParticipantAs a Bulls’ fan I am more than happy that he was finally amnestied, but now that he wasn’t traded, how can the Bulls’ sign Melo outright without a sign and trade that could hurt the team’s depth?

Scott42444Participant…Boozer is trade away Dunleavy’s $3 million, either trade Randolph or release him with the "stretch provision" (which I’m not 100% sure of the details on) and try to bring in a couple of cheap 2nd rounders via trade using the trade exceptions and the non-guaranteed contracts of Brewer, Amundson, and James. Drafted 2nd rounders are the only players who count for less than the minimum under the salary cap rules. Maybe a team like the 76ers would be willing to trade a K.J. McDaniels for a couple 2nd rounders (maybe the 2 from Portland) or maybe Snell could be moved for a couple of the Nets 2nd rounders to make a bunch of room. Long story short, the Bulls would have to amnesty Boozer, trade Dunleavy and Snell, and either trade Randolph or release him using the stretch provision. That would free up in the $15 million + range, which is a HUGE disadvantage. Not to mention, the Bulls lost the FULL MLE and BAE for being over the cap and only have the room exemption. So actually using the amnesty provision gives the Bulls LESS money to spend. Of course, $16 million over 4 years is SOOOOOO much less than what Melo could get with the Knicks I believe it stands at (unfortunately) 80% – Knicks, 15% Bulls, 4.5% Rockets, and 0.25% Lakers and 0.25% Mavericks. I know that the Knicks have zero desire to receive Boozer in a sign and trade, I think that the Knicks would have to at least listen if the Bulls offer the pick from the Kings and their own pick in the 2015 draft (which can be swapped with Cleveland if the Cavs make the playoffs, which is a VERY real possibility in the weak East with Wiggins and possibly Hayward). That could give the Knicks 3 picks in the Top 20 in the 2015 draft. They also could obtain a late 1st rounder for the expiring contracts of Amare, Boozer, and Bargnani at the deadline this year. Actually, if the Bulls take back J.R. Smith (they have around $3 million in trade exceptions and over $4 million in non-guaranteed deals that could take care of Smith’s deal) and throw in 1 pick I think the Knicks would be VERY willing. The Bulls would probably try to just dump Smith somewhere (as they already did years ago in the Tyson Chandler salary dump) but getting rid of J.R. Smith AND getting a pick would be a great haul for Phil Jackson and the Knicks rebuilding efforts.

DolanCareParticipantBetter late than never. Boozer will definitely get offers. Even though he was grossly overpaid with Chicago, he’s too gifted of a scorer to be ignored by other teams. The Clips need some front court depth, so does Orlando and Indiana. If one of those teams can ink him for less than $7 mill a year than that’s a good deal. On the short term of course.

GrandmamaParticipantFar from a gifted scorer. Averaged 13.7 ppg last year, and that was for a team that couldn’t score. Shot a career low FG% last year at 45.6%. Has zero post moves, and can’t finish around the rim. The majority of his buckets are on 12-15 foot fadeaways. Gifted scorer couldn’t be further from the truth.
