Ghost01ParticipantPer Woj.
Miami’s make believe offseason continues to produce nothing. Doesn’t LeBron at least have to consider other places if they put no one new around him there? Really going to spend the remainder of his prime playing with two guys on decline?
And not to get totally off track, but the way this offseason is going for Miami early on, a team like the Bulls, even without Melo, could make a few nice moves and be serious contenders in the East. Can LeBron beat that defense, w/ a healthy Rose, w/say…Parsons and Gasol?
Either way, nice grab by Toronto to keep him.

r377ParticipantFair price for Lowry, I am not a Raps fan but am glad he remained loyal and re-signed with them rather than going Miami, LA etc

OhCanada-ParticipantI was getting worried for a second. If Toronto lost Lowry it could have had a devistating effect on them longterm. If they couldnt resign him after the type of season they had it could make aome of the other players doubt the management in the longterm would be able to bring enough talent to the team to compete for a championship.
In 2015 Toronto will have Derozan (9.5mil), Lowry (12mil), Ross (3.5mil), Valanciunas (4.5mil), and Novak (3.7mil). Thats about half the salary cap and the year we will learn whether or not Toronto in the Masai Ujiri era can acquire a marquee free agent.

CanadianGMParticipantNice pick up by the Raptors. I see them fighting out for that fifth spot. They have done some nice things with their cap situation. They are a hardworking bunch and keep on improving. Remember they started 6-13 last season when hey traded Rudy Gay and were considering tanking. They had a better record than Indiana after that point and bring back Lowry and Derozan in the backcourt. Ross, JV and Amir Johnson are looking like they could go somewhere. Vazquez and Patterson were key parts of rotation and should be brought back. Plus all the bad contracts like Lou Wlliams (5.4mil) Landry (8.25) Chuck Hayes (5.98) come off the books after next year.
Hopefully those two Brazillians – Bebe who they acquired for eating a bad contract and Bruno can amount to something as they both have freakishly long arms and athletic ability. Bruno is 6 foot 8 with reported 7 foot 8 wingspan and only 18 years old. Bebe is a 7 footer with 7 foot 6 wingspan. They have the cap room to eat one more contract if it nets them a young talent. Houston need to get rid of Lins contract to add a player and would probably offer New Orleans likely lottery pick next year.
Who knows but Lowry plays with so much heart and grit, you would think you were watching hockey and we Canadians love him for it.

Toronto16ParticipantI’m really glad he chose Toronto over Miami. It will hopefully help debunk some of this "Americans don’t want to be in Cananda" talk. Toronto was the best opportunity for him to cash out as well as be on a team on the rise.
Not sure what’s going on in Miami, seems both Bosh and Lebron want to get paid, which is fine, but I think that is the problem with teaming up. Every deserves to make their max earning potential while they are in professional sports, you don’t know how long your career is going to last.
