KHAM83ParticipantHawks fan, and we have the option to swap picks with Brooklyn next season. This, along with their 2nd rounder are the last pieces to the Joe Johnson deal.
With all that’s going on, how well do you think they will do? I didn’t think Kidd was that good of a coach, and his replacement may be better, but could this turmoil between Kidd and management make Pierce and KG both say screw this?
Will it affect Williams? I’m hoping for the worst of course bc I want their record to be terrible. I know it’s still a stretch in the east, but do you expect them to miss the playoffs?
*fyi regarding Boston owning their pick. Boston will get the pick after Atlanta chooses to swap picks or not. So if Atlanta picks 20th overall and Nets have a lotto pick, Boston would more likely get the 20th pick.

UnbiasedObserverParticipantThe Nets future is bleak. And that’s being nice.
The Celtics own their first round picks for the next several years. I think the Celtics mayyyy have won that trade.
And those picks could quite possibly be lottery picks because its all downhill for Brooklyn.

burgessfourParticipantsitting on a potential lottery pick. I don’t see anyone they drafted this year helping them much next year. While they did play great ball the last few months last year, their record was somewhat inflated by all the tanking (my Sixers included) last year. Plus, they’re aging quickly.

KHAM83ParticipantTanking teams is what worries me, and the Sixers without tanking are not much better next season. A healthy Milwaukee team should be better and so the Cavs. I hope Washington and Toronto keeps Gortat and Lowry
Better than Nets
Miami (keeping big 3)
Indy
Atlanta
Charlotte
Chicago
Better than Nets?
Raptors (w/ Lowry)
Wizards (w/ Gortat)
Cavs (healthy and w/ Wiggins)
Can these teams compete with Nets?
Bucks (healthy w/ Parker)
Celtics (if they keep Rondo)
Knicks (gaining players fit for the triangle)
Pistons (Drummond improving)

machu46ParticipantIn the East, if they can get Pierce and Livingston and all them back, they should still be a playoff team.

KHAM83ParticipantI agree, but everywhere I’ve read it’s a foregone conclusion that Livingston and Blatche have priced themselves out of Nets being able to keep them. With all the injuries last year to starting pgs, backups are very valuable.
And I’m thinking we’re underestimating Pierce to Clippers. They offer a better chance at another ring, Doc is there, and most importantly he’s from LA. I think that’ll push him to LA. With that said, I’m hoping KG asks to be bought out to follow suit. KG is pushing it, but I think Pierce is very possible.
