WhodunitParticipantYou listen to this kid talk and he exudes confidence, humility, maturity, self-awareness, intelligence, saviness, authority and leadership.
Bucks got a star player and leader with the #2 pick. I just hope the Bucks put a good team around him. I hear him talk and im reminded of Mark Jackson.
His teammates are gonna follow him and listen to him. I expect him to build relationships and continue impressing people and change the culture in Milwaukee. He’s gonna get alot of corporate endorsements and i think eventually find himself in coaching one day.(bookmark this post for the next 25yrs!!)
Jabari, by far the most impressive person i’ve heard speak in this draft.

WhodunitParticipantIts a bold prediction that I think has a good chance of happening. With some guys you can just tell.
Fun question: Which other guy in this class would make a good head coach?

ShwiggydogParticipantI think he’s great, a mature guy, but he hasn’t even played an NBA game yet. Let’s wait and enjoy the moment and see what he will bring instead of placing crazy expectations on him; it’s like the whole "how will this affect LeBron’s legacy" thing during the Finals when he still has so much time left in his career. Just slow down, and enjoy the now.

WhodunitParticipantBut we live at a time where we want the next thing cuz the last thing that happened is old news and boring (i disagree). And "the moment" you speak of is done now, we dont see this guy play until 4 months from now (minus the summer league) and the hype and interest we have right now will have died down until it builds back up at the start of the season.
I was just trying to profile Jabari and the type of person he is. This is absolutely relatable to how good he’s gonna be on the court. He’s gonna be a talker and leader on the court, hence my thinking he’d make a fine head coach one day.

ConezdParticipantBeing reminded if Mark Jackson (the coach) is not necessarily a good thing. I don’t know if you know but, Mark Jackson just got fired basically because of that personality that you speak of. I agree, Parker is mature for his age and I also agree he will be a heck of a player but, when I hear him speak, I think he’s border line arrogant. I just think he hides it well. But, you need confidence in yourself to succeed in the nba and I think he’s a quality person so I don’t foresee even arrogance getting in his way.

WhodunitParticipantWow thats interesting. I didnt detect any arrogance in his voice. It just seems like he knows who he is and is confident in answering all these questions. Good prepping by his handlers i guess.
I thought Jackson got fired because his Owner was a meddlesome prick who had his assistant coaches secretly taping him?

SwatLakeCityParticipantYou said that Parker is a young player who exudes confidence, humility, maturity, self-awareness, savvyness, intelligence authority and leadership. Yet that sounds like a lot of players in this years draft. (I’d even go far as to say that it sounds like this entire draft class except for maybe 1 or 2 players) Yeah, it might happen maybe 20 years down the road, but it might not as well. We all thought Steve Nash would be a coach some day, but right now when he is dang close to retiring, coaching is not even on the radar for him yet. I bet coaching is far from Jabari’s mind. And it will be far from his mind for quite awhile if that is indeed in his future. He hasn’t even played an NBA game yet, let’s wait on the future coach calls until he’s a veteran and a proven winner. I think he already is a proven winner too, but like I said let’s wait about 7-10 years before we start talking about Jabari coaching one day.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantYeah Parker does speak well, reminds me of Shane Battier..Its a little too early to be talking about him as a future coach..But i believe he has what it takes to make a great NBA Union Player President in about 3 or 4 years…
He needs to take his Chicago buddy Derrick Rose to some speaking classes..Derrick is my favorite point guard, but dude talks like he took the short bus to school……….
