An earlier tweet from Zach Lowe claims   "Rob Hennigan, ORL GM is not one to make a deal without doing due diligence w/ all 29 other teams."  This one just does not make a lot of sense to me.  There HAD to be better options available.

Soruces said Hornets actually tried to offer Henderson and 24th pick for him but Orlando rejected. Is more of a financial move if you look at their contracts, magic saved 6m in this trade without commiting to another 1st round pick besides their own #3 and #12.

Afflalo to the Thunder (a Bill Simmons idea), Afflalo to the Clippers, Afflalo to the Pistons, the Cavaliers, the Hornets. There are a lot of teams that have assets to give.

This truly doesn’t make sense. 

And who cares if they have more 1st round picks? Draft someone who you plan to stash overseas, or use your assets to pull off a blockbuster deal. There’s no reason to dump one of the top 4 shooting guards in the league, and Afflalo is top 4. (Harden, Wade, Kobe then it’s Afflalo). This is worse than the Chandler trade.

 He probally didnt want to help other teams by letting them use Afflalo as trade bait or take on any unwanted salary. Also he may not have wanted to add a player that would not match the teams approach and playing style. Who knows maybe fell in love with Fournier a while ago before Ujiri drafted him.
