We haven’t seen him at all this year and i have no idea what to expect. Philly fans, whats the word? Everyone keeps saying he’s their Center of the Future but we have absolutely no idea, everything is hush hush on him. Last I heard he was working on completely re-making his jumpshot.

I know he shredded his knee in college and has no offensive game. And with all that being said Philly fans are going bat shyt over him.

Superior run and jump athlete but in more. At best he’s Theo Ratliff or Tyson Chandler to me.

Well Ratliff and Chandler are two totally differnt players.

Ratliff was an elite shotblocker and below average rebounder, and Chandler was a really good rebounder and an average shot blocker. Noel is a better athlete than both of them, is at least Ratliff’s equal as an off the ball shot blocker and a far superior on the ball shot blocker. He is also probably Chandler’s equal as a rebounder. In addition, Noel will have the ability to step out and guard a lot of 3’s away from the basket, which neither Chandler nor Ratliff could do.

So I think that Noel projects as a better player than both of them. Offensively, we don’t know what he will become, and it may not be much, but defensively he could be a perenial DPOY type of guy.

I think he is about even with Anthony Davis on the D-side of the ball. Offense will be a work in progress, but he has good hands, timing, and coordination so he’ll be able to get buckets off of lobs and putbacks from the get-go.

I know he’s a hard working, high energy, athletic, defensive minded center with a very very quick second jump, his second jump reminds me on Marion in the day. He has good head on his shoulders aswell. I honestly believe he is an absolute game changer.

We will find out next weekend in the Orlando summer league, the coaching staff said they are going to let him loose.

I watched a lot of Nerlens in HS and his freshman year at UK…to me athletically he is right there a top the list of big men in the NBA, but is going to need time to fill out his frame to fully become as effective as he potentially can be.

That being said, he has the ability to come in this year and finish in the top 10 in both rebounds and blocks and really be a presence on the defensive end. Offensively the word in Philadelphia is yes he has been working on his offensive game, but what big or really NBA player in general doesn’t do that in the offseason or if allowed when out with an injury?

I do feel as though he fits great with the fast pace offense Philly has in place and could average 9.0-11.0ppg just simply with a few put backs and fast break/transistion buckets and a couple trips to the line here and there per game. It is also going to help him statiscally that the sixers aren’t going to be that good again…he will get significant 4th quater minutes vs. some of the worst talent in the NBA just as MCW did last year.

Nothing anyone has provided so far includes "this is what i’ve learned or saw in the past year alone". Its all what we knew exactly 1yr ago. Nothing has really changed. And as you said, which Big man doesnt work on his shot once he gets to the NBA. So really, theres NO NEW INFORMATION on Nerlens Noel??? This is important to know since we are all lead to believe Philly has its big man of the future. Is he a bust already? Should we be assuming the worst already? Reports should or would have come out some time this year saying how great he looks in scrimmages or how much weight he has put on or how his low post moves have improved dramatically… But No, nothing, zilch… hmm

Larry Sanders but not a d-bag. And probably an even better athlete.
