arshavin123ParticipantDario Šarć has signed a contract with Efes Pilsen from Turkey. The deal is for two guaranteed years plus an option for a third which basically ensures he won’t come to the NBA for at least 2 years. This drops him probably down to the end of the first..maybe Thunder draft and stash him

TenSecondTomParticipantThere is almost a 0% chance he slips past say 17 or 18 with Boston and Phoenix having a pick before that. In addition to that, don’t be surprised if he still gets picked in the lottery; his agent is not dumb like many believe and I wouldn’t be surprised if he has an agreement with a team like the Nuggets as CBS reported to take him with the 11th pick under the assumption he stays in Europe for a few years. He hasn’t interviewed with late lottery teams and hasn’t worked out with any team, yet he didn’t withdraw from the draft. There is a definite method to what is preceived as madness from his camp. Also, his agent tweeted something peculiar recently about how his client’s contract details are not accurate as being reported; I do not know if that pertains to Dario, but it could.
My take on the situation is he would not have made this announcement before an agreement was in place one way or the other. So A. He already has a major lottery promise that he wants. or B. He’s playing his cards and trying to further manipulate the draft process to go to a particular team he wants. Overall, the NBA draft is a draft where after the lottery, selecting a player who will make an instant contribution has proven to be an imperfect science. I have no doubts that with the landscape of this particular draft (many teams having multiple picks) that a team will select him in the top 18 picks and I would still place my bet on him going in the top 14 picks to be honest.
Realistically speaking, the Lakers and Celtics may be the only two teams in the lottery who can realistically contend for a championship in the next two years with their ability to rake in a big time free agent, so what’s the difference if Dario is or is not playing for a non contender for two years? Let him get the guaranteed playing time that is necessary for him to develop in such an important stage (18-22 sets the tone for a player’s ceiliing and basement) in his career.

Prime TimeParticipantIt would make sense that he already had a promise before he announced this. I hope the my Celtics don’t draft him.

KHAM83ParticipantThis worries me as a Hawks fan. I am not interested in Saric but at 15, the better wings may or may not be there. I was counting on Saric being taken ahead of us so that Hood, Levine, Stauskas, Young may fall to us.

EndlessknightParticipantI still think the Sixers should take him at 10. They can afford to wait.

Lotto StudParticipantThat would be the best fit for this purpose alone, because there is so much uncertainty within the Sixers organization heading into the future.

r377ParticipantSaric really annoys me. He mucked us around last year with the draft also.
He will not come over for two years or may he not come over at all !! He might not even decide to play for the team that selects him.
Picking Saric might be almost as risky as picking Royce White. Saric sounds like a diva if you ask me….

Lotto StudParticipantI love the International guys but it always appears to be that the most talented prospects of the bunch are "Mitches". I still miss Rudy Fernandez to this day, although he erked the sh*t out of me with his "Mitch fits" in Portland.
