     1st Pick

    C- Dwight Howard

    PF – Tim Duncan

    SF – Lebron James

    SG – John Wall

    PG – Derrick Rose

    Bench – Blake Griffin/Anthony Davis/Kyrie Irving/ANdrew Bogut/Andrea Bargnani/Elton Brand/Kenyon Martin

Breakdown – This is obviously a talented and deep team, everything you’d expect out of the number one picks.  It’s main weakness is its lack of depth on the perimeter, especially at the guard position.  No true shooting guards here.  But let’s be honest.  Any team with Lebron James running the show, Tim Duncan being a supporting role player, and Dwight Howard not having to be a huge offensive presence is going to succeed.

    2nd Pick

    C – Tyson Chandler

    PF – LaMarcus Aldridge

    SF – Kevin Durant

    SG – Evan Turner

    PG – Victor Oladipo

    Bench – Emeka Okafor/MKG/Derrick Williams/Marvin Williams/Michael Beasley/Hasheem Thabeet

Breakdown – There’s some serious star power between Durant and Aldrdige, and Tyson Chandler is the consummate defensive center, but beyond that, this team lacks depth.  And guard play.  Especially at the point guard position.

    3rd Pick

    C – Al Horford

    PF – Pau Gasol

    SF – Carmelo Anthony

    SG – James Harden

    PG – Deron Williams

    Bench – Beal/Mayo/Favors/Kanter/Dunleavy/Ben Gordon/Dunleavy

Breakdown – This is a superb team from top to bottom.  Great starting lineup, although it will be poor on defense with a bunch of offensive-minded guys like Anthonyy and Harden, and with a center who isn’t a great rim protector.  But this team has a lot of depth at every position and can score in all sorts of ways.

    4th Pick

    C – Chris Bosh

    PF – Tristan Thompson

    SF – Tyreke Evans

    SG – Ruseel Westbrook

    PG – Chris Paul

    Bench – Conley/Waiters/Gooden/Cody Zeller/Wes Johnson/Livingston/Lamar Odom

Breakdown – The backcourt is phenomenal, as long as they don’t get in each others’ way.  But they’re both great players who have a solid frontcourt to boot. The depth isn’t great for this team, and Chris Bosh isn’t as comfortable or suited to the center position, but he’ll definitely create mismatches as a stretch 5.

    5th Pick

    C – Demarcus Cousins

    PF – Kevin Love

    SF – Jeff Green

    SG – Dwyane Wade

    PG – Ricky Rubio

    Bench – Ray Allen/Garnett/Felton/Valanciunas/Carter/Devin Harris/Thomas Robinson

Breakdown – AN interesting combo of talented young guys and veterans.  Rubio is a great point guard to bring all this talent together, Love and Cousins are an interesting tandem inside, and Wade, Allen, Garnett, and Carter know how to win.  Great depth and a great mix of talent in the starting lineup.

    6th Pick

    C – Chris Kaman

    PF – Nerlens Noel

    SF – Danilo Gallinari

    SG – Martell Webster

    PG – Damien Lillard

    Bench – Battier/Udoh/Vesely/Flynn/Roy

Breakdown – This team…ugh.  Lillard is great, and Gallinari is versatile, but this team is far behind the top 5.  No depth, very little frontcourt talent.  Noel could be good, but he hasn’t played an NBA minute.  A lot of washed up guys and busts at this pick

    7th Pick

    C – Nene

    PF – Greg Monroe

    SF – Luol Deng

    SG – Eric Gordon

    PG – Steph Curry

    Bench – Barnes/Foye/Hinrich/McLemore/Biyombo/Brewer/Villanueva

Breakdown – This is a really solid team.  Great starting 5, good depth.  And guys like Monroe and Deng are good team players who will complement the volume scoring backcourt very nicely.

    8th Pick

    C – Brandan Wright

    PF – Channing Frye

    SF – Rudy Gay

    SG – Jamal Crawford

    PG – Brandon Knight

    Bench – Terrence Ross/Aminu/KCP/Jordan Hill/Andre Miller/Chris Wilcox/TJ Ford

Breakdown – Very weak frontcourt here, not enough to make up for a solid perimeter group.  And I don’t like the combination of Rudy Gay, Jamal Crawford, and Brandon Knight.  Not a great mix for ball movement and good team basketball or defense.  Very underwhelming team.

    9th Pick

    C – Joakim Noah

    PF – Dirk Nowitzki

    SF – Andre Iguodala

    SG – Demar Derozan

    PG – Kemba Walker

    Bench – Drummond/Hayward/Kemba/Trey Burke/Stoudemire/Marion/Augustin

Out of nowhere, we get a fabulous team, one of the best assembled here.  Great starting lineup with unselfish guys like Iguodala, Nowitzki, and Noah.  Incredible bench, maybe the best of all these picks.  Lots of youth and lots of vets.  All-around great team.

    10th Pick

    C – Brook Lopez

    F – Paul George

    F – Paul Pierce

    SG – Joe Johnson

    PG – Brandon Jennings

    Bench – Caron Butler/Terry/Fredette/Hawes/Bynum/Rivers/McCollum

So this lineup, aka the Nets+Paul George and some other dudes, is solid.  it’s a little perimeter-heavy, which is why I put the 6’10" Paul george as the second-biggest guy on the floor for the starters.  But it’s got a lot of efficient scorers and could be an ok team.

    11th Pick

    C – Meyers Leonard

    PF – Andris Biedrins

    SF – Klay THompson

    SG – JJ Redick

    PG – MCW

    Bench – Bayless/Aldrich/Terrence WIlliams

The 11th pick has been a real dud the past 15 years.  There have been a few bright spots lately, as THompson and MCW will put up some points, along with JJ Redick.  THis team will hit a lot of threes, but they won’t excel at much else.  Really no depth here as they only have 7 active NBA players on their roster, I believe.

    12th Pick

    C – Steven Adams

    PF – Jason THompson

    SF – Thaddeus Young

    SG – Gerald Henderson

    PG – Alec Burks

    Bench – Jeremy Lamb/Nick COllison/Xavier Henry/Hilton Armstrong

Breakdown – Not a great team here, but a relatitevely cohesive one with a tiny bit of depth.  Needs a point guard, but Burks, Henderson, Young, and Adams are a good nucleus that can put some points on the board.

    13th Pick

    C – Ed Davis

    PF – Tyler Hansbrough

    SF – Thabo Sefolosha

    SG – Kobe Bryant

    PG – Kendall MArshall

    Bench – Jefferson/Markieff Morris/Olynyk/Rush/Telfair

Not a horrible team. Kobe has some decent guys to support him as he goes to work.  Marshall is a good, unselfish point guard.  Lots of Tarheels on this roster, by the way.

    14th Pick

    C- John Henson

    PF – Patrick Patterson

    SF – Marcus Morris

    SG – Ronnie Brewer

    PG – Luke Ridnour

    Bench – Humphries/Earl Clark/Troy Murphy/Shabazz Muhammad/Anthony Randolph

Breakdwon – Needs an improvement at point guard and, really, star power, but there som decent NBA players here.

    15th Pick

    C- Al Jefferson

    PF – Larry Sanders

    SF- Kawhi Leonard

    SG – Giannis Antetokounmpo

    PG -Steve Nash

    Bench – Stuckey/Robin Lopez/Harkless/Daye

A really solid team down in the post-lottery.  Jefferson can flat-out score inside, Leonard and Antetokounmpo are an intriguing combo on the wings, Sanders can defend like crazy, Nash brings it all together, and Stuckey is a great 6th man.  Great mix of guys and good depth.

    17th Pick

    C – Roy Hibbert

    PF – Josh Smith

    SF- Danny Granger

    SG – Iman Shumpert

    PG – Jrue Holiday

    Bench – Seraphin/Tyler Zeller/Jermain O’Neal/Schroeder

Here’s a gem down at the 17th pick, maybe the best post-lottery team.  Not a lot of depth, especially on the perimeter, but a really solid starting 5.  As long as Josh SMith does good things and doesn’t do bad things. Shoutout to Larry Bird for getting 2 all-stars at 17 this past decade.

what is your cutoff year, cause if its the 95 draft, you missed Mcdyess and #2, stackhouse #2. Rasheed #4, Kurt Thomas #10, and Brent Barry, # 15

I don’t think one wins it all.
its only one ball and where would the outside shooting come from? 10 and 9 are good teams

I like Wall a lot but if you’re going to put a PG at the 2 it has to be Iverson.

Why did you stop at #17? If you weren’t planning on doing the whole round you could’ve stopped at the Lottery.

I did lottery plus the two best other teams I could make, so I would have a nice, round, tournament-friendly total of 16.

I love the effort put into this because it’s a first for me seeing this composed. I do respect that much, but there is no chance on any level that Victor Oladipo is the starting PG over Jay Williams.

Ok, are you people really that bad with context clues?  Why are you throwing out names like Jay Williams and Allen Iverson and Brent freakin’ Barry?!  Did I include any retired players on any of these 16 teams?  NO, i did not.  The teams are clearly made of active NBA players or, in a few cases, players who until very recently were in the NBA and could very well make it back, guys who I honestly wasn’t sure if they were still on an NBA roster or not.  Not Tracy McGrady.  Geez…

Ok, I’m sorry that, out of 150+ guys, I missed one role player who’s been out of the league a mere two years and is only 31.  If TJ Ford being buried in the middle of this list led you to believe that I overlooked a guy like Jay Williams, who hasn’t played in the NBA since 2003, even though I didn’t include guys like Ming and McGrady and Iverson, then I apologize.
