MisterMordenParticipantSo, if your a Sixers fan, then you would know that they have both Dante Exum and Marcus Smart in Philly for a workout today (Sunday). This leads many people, myself included, to believe that MCW might be on the table. There are also talks that, out of all the players that the Sixers have, or are interested in, Marcus Smart seems to have the most of that aggressive, Alpha Dawg type mentality, and the most competitive fire within him. He seems to have that kind of AI attitude of wanting to win now!, something that the Sixers organization might favor. If your a Sixers fan, would you like him to run your team? Do you think he can be that next franchise player for the Sixers? If you draft him, let’s say at 3, then you better make sure you don’t draft a ball-dominating player at 10 coz Smart’s gonna wanna hog the ball for himself most of the time. He seems like he wants to be The Man. Sixers fans, what do you think?

ibe12ParticipantIt all depends on what you can get for MCW. As much as I like him he isn’t a franchise changer to me. If your able to get a top 10 pick while still keeping 3 and 10 I’d do it. You then could have a chance of getting Randle and Smart or Exum and get a shooter at ten.

druneave3ParticipantMCW could be moved but I sure wouldn’t and I think they are just doing their due diligence. Besides, many people project both Smart and Exum as off guards.

mixtape2003ParticipantIt does make you wonder, he refused to workout for the Jazz cause with Burke there he would play the 2

thunderjerkParticipantI thought he didn’t workout with the Jazz because they already have a starting point guard. MCW is big enough to play the two and the pay difference between the third and fifth pick makes it worth it.

BallinmvpParticipantIf I’m drafting smart then I want him to be my PG. He dominates the ball and is most effective when he can drive and make plays. He can post up weaker guards and his strength gives him a strong advantage on offense and defense. I think he would be great for the lakers or kings. I don’t think philly should draft him when other options are on the board

vulture711ParticipantWould make Zero sense to trade MCW for a pick to take Smart unless you think Marcus is light years better – – I don’t
you’d just be moving sideways
Now if you watched Phoenix employ 2 points then you might have something
Smart is strong enough to guard 2s and you could play him in the post – the bad is neither he nor mcw shoot for poop

MisterMordenParticipantThen your saying the Sixers might tinker with the Two-PG system? Otherwise, why would they have Exum and Smart in town for workouts today if it makes zero sense to trade MCW for another PG?

B FreeParticipantIf They are really considering Smart I don’t know if that means MCW is on the table. I really like Smart,I got to see him play this year when they came and destroyed USF, but the biggest knock on him has always been is he a true point guard. He more like a combo guard which usually is the kiss of death as combo guards rarely work, for every Westbrook there are 5 Randy Foyes. But Smart seems like a good one who could work but it’s all about expectations and who he is paired with. By pairing him with a tall pass first PG who is getting better every game playing off the ball it allows him to grow into his new role but still be the ball dominant guard he is. He will be able to guard most NBA SGs because he is a great athlete and has solid size and strength. It would be very similar to Orlando’s situation if they decided to take Exum by pairing him with Victor but I think Smart is a better version of Victor.

MisterMordenParticipantI don’t think Smart wants to play 2G, and that’s probably why he turned down utah’s invite to workout for them.

jaycee24ParticipantWhy not use their 2nds maybe 32 and 39 to move up to get smart along with the 10

burgessfourParticipantchance the sixers take Smart @ 3. No doubt they are doing their due diligence, maybe someone makes an offer for MCW that includes another top 10 pick. Personally I would prefer they keep MCW (outside of a no-brainer offer). While it’s true he may never put up the kind of numbers he did this year, he could definitely become a more efficient (better) player, and it’s very possible he could be a top 10 PG in the league for a long time.
