aarondsonixfanParticipantThe Wizards just traded the 5th pick for Rany Foye and Mike Miller. Now Minnesota has the 5th and 6th pick, but everyone knows that they are attempting to trade those 2 for the 2nd pick to get Rubio.. Think they have a chance?

butidonthavemoneyESPN says that they don’t want to trade the pick.

butidonthavemoneyWe’ve all heard the rumors. We believe you.
There is also this. “A source said that the Timberwolves won’t package Nos. 5 and 6 for No. 2, but they could offer the fifth and 18th picks for the second. The key for Minnesota, according to the source, is that it wants to have two lottery selections, whether that’s Nos. 2 and 6 or 5 and 6. The source said Minnesota is expecting to have a “very busy Wednesday.”

ztrain892ParticipantI don’t understand. Would memphis give minnesota anything significant in addition to the number two pick? Otherwise, 2 for 5 and 6 would be a TERRIBLE deal for minnesota.

llperezboth the 5 and 6 pick for #2 would be terrible for the Wolves. Especially considering no one is even sure who the top 5 picks should be. Rubio is far from a lock. I think Minnesota should get Evans and DeRozan. That would be a crazy athletic backcourt with CBrewer and Gomes playing the sf and Love/Jefferson down low.

ztrain892Participantevans and derozan would be good. I have a feeling the wolves will take evans and then flynn/curry if they stay put.
Personally, I am hoping thabeet slides to 5 (which apparently is possible). Then we can take thabeet and evans. I think that would be the best case for the wolves.

Lodzio20ParticipantI think would take Jonny Flynn and Tyreke Evans

MasrockHarden, if he’s there at 5. Then Evans at 6. DeRozan probably isn’t an option to them. He canceled his private workout because he was sick, and I don’t think they’re high on him anyways. They like Evans a lot. Harden is a no-brainer. I’m hoping Sacto takes Curry or Flynn.
Evans
Harden
Gomes
Love
JeffersonThat’s sturdy, to say the least.

SophisticParticipantI like the deal cause i think Foye is pretty overrated and Miller slowing down.
A Curry-Evans backcourt has nice potential and if they are lucky they might even get Rubio or Harden.0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/23/2009 - 11:47pm #171022
Lodzio20ParticipantCome on…if they want Rubio that be a huge mistake…The must take at #5 Curry, #6- Hill or Thabeet if he available and with #18 Jrue Holiday…i they trade two picks with Grizzlies that be a mistake. Rubio isn’t a good choice

ashleyriot19Participantwhen i read some comments i really want to laugh, i mean i understand it when i see a rubio hater who thinks he should slid past 6, i also hate players that i know are good, but still…
you read things like the wolves taking hill, which is probably the most ridiculous proposition you can think about in this draft, they have a logjam at pf with love and jefferson who are way better than hill who coincidentally is slipping in every draft board by the second…
then you see a team that’s trying to get up in the draft and you say they should get a talent that’s not even a top10 player right now like derozan? do you really think mike miller and foye for derozan would have made sense for david kahn¿?
i agree 5 and 6 for rubio would be madness because the grizzlies won’t pick up rubio and chris wallace won’t get into a trade that’s not lopsided to his favor, so just trade with okc and they will get the same players at 5 than at 3 (unless they really want rubio as it seems to be the cae according to their lawyers, who are working to smooth the buyout situation by talking with spanish law firms) and the wolves would gladly give the 18 pick as a “freebie”.0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/24/2009 - 4:58am #171072

R-Dot-13Participantcurry and evans

praimalParticipanti dont think they give 5 and 6 for rubio,i mean, why not offer the 6 foye and miller to memphis i think memphis could agree.
