lilleloeveParticipantWhat would the a trade between the Sixers 10th pick and Lakers 7th pick look like? If the Sixers offered the 10th pick, thad young and maybe the 39th pick, would the Lakers accept?
My thought for the Sixers would be to trade up and pick up one of the PF (Randle or Vonleh). I would prefer Vonleh next to Noel as he offers a better shot than Randle.
The Lakers get a proven and versatile player in thad young and a draft pick only 3 spots later. So what do you guys think a trade like this could look like? (be creative)

AwrightAwrightAwrightParticipantIt depends on who the Sixers take at 3. ,
If they take Embiid at 3, then a trade just to get another PF like Randle or Vonleh just wouldn’t make a whole lotta sense, unless they plan to move Noel also.
If, however, they take Wiggins, Parker, or Exum at 3, then I’d say go ahead and trade up to get Randle or Vonleh at 7.
Personally, I’d wait till the day of the draft first and see who Cleveland and Milwaukee actually take before I make any moves with my #3 and #10 picks.

lilleloeveParticipantI am pretty sure Embiid goes 1 to Cavs, so that is why I didn’t really talk about scenarios mentioning him. But if the Cavs were to Parker or Wiggins and Embiid would fall to the Sixers. They should take him in a heartbeat! BPA over need, and if that happens i could actually see them trading down from the 10th pick, with someone like Chicago who has been said to trying to move up. Then they pick up the 16th and the 19th pick, and could use both of those for a SG and SF. At 16, someone like James Young might be available, and at 19 BPA of the wings left on the board. (GR III, Early, Warren, Grant)

AwrightAwrightAwrightParticipantHey. That’s a good idea too. I would absolutely love to trade #10 away to Chicago for both of their 1st round picks back.
Then, at 16, I’d take Adreian Payne and 19th, I’ll take C-Early. Then at 32, I’d probably go Hairston or KJ McDaniels, depending on who’s still available there.
Imagine coming out of this draft with Embiid, Payne, Early, Hairston (or McDaniels), and CJ Fair (or Melvin Ejim) at 39.
That’s the beauty of being in the Sixers draft position right now: the different transaction possibilities are endless !!!

Rightisright5116ParticipantYes. I like 10 for 14 and 18.
Can move one of those pick plus thad young to sacremento at 8.
3- Parker
8- Vonleh, Randall, or gordon
14 or 18- James young
start: MCW, Young, Parker, Sims, Noel.
Subs: Wroten, drafted PF, JRich?

morestealsthanscoresParticipantWith my Philly head on, the Lakers really don’t have much else to move, so things get very difficult. They could pass on Kendall Marshall or future 2nd rounders (don’t think they’d be stupid enough to give up future 1s) but that’s about it.
For the Lakers- I think that Thad Young’s value seems to have fallen quite a lot as he’s made it clear he wants to leave. If the Sixers asked me about #7, I’d go for Thad Young + #7 – and there’s no salary cap issues there.
For the Sixers- this might be slightly too much- I’d probably want one or two future 2nds, or 1 + the right to switch 2nds. Marshall holds no interest for me cause they already have a point guard, and they’ll only get two seasons before having to pay him.

MattP31ParticipantSixers wouldn’t want Marshall. The Lakers actually signed Marshall off the Sixers D-League affiliate this year as he was playing for the Delaware club but didn’t have his rights owned by Philly. If Sixers had any interest they would have given him a shot this year

Magic JordanParticipantI am tired of seeing this. Just as you would prefer Randle or Vonleh instead of Thad Young… so will the Lakers. No need to take on 2 years of almost 10 mil for Thad Young… it cuts into what we are trying to do. Yes he has an ETO but no guarantee it’s exercised.

FutureNBAGMParticipantWhy not just stay at #10 and take a SG like Harris or Stauskas to pair with MCW in the backcourt. At #3, I think any of the top three guys would form a solid frontline with Noel and Young(seeing as Young is SF/PF and Noel is PF/C. Just my opinion but I just dont see much reason for Philly to trade up, yet at least.

mixtape2003ParticipantYea lakers not taking on salary that goes into the 15-16 season and move down, especiallly if they do not see that player as a long term fit. Not saying its a bad offer, just not what the Lakers are looking for.

burgessfourParticipantOP’s deal of 10, 39 and Thad for 7 is probably an even deal (I’m a Sixers fan). But, I think for the Lakers to move pick 7 they’ll want more immediate help as they are in “win now” mode with Kobe’s time winding down.

King CaluchaParticipantIn NBA 2k games… you can scout a player’s potential, so you pick him, give him minutes and the player improves with time.
In real life, things don’t work like that; players can bust. I think some guys are way too high on prospects. If a team wants to win now, then Thad Young goes over any prospect in the late lotto. Why take a gamble if you can have the sure thing? Yes, there are some issues regarding cap space, but that can be worked out.
