Randle to Have Foot Surgery

Woj is reporting that Julius Randle will have foot surgery and is expected to miss summer league. He should be ready for training camp however. I was wondering why there hasn’t been a lot of buzz coming from the Randle camp lately. This probably explains it.

That has to move him down in the draft, and maybe Vonleh and also Gordon up a bit.
Pick 10 to the 76ers, Randle could be a good fit with them.
Lakers probably still take him at pick 7, they need someone to score in the paint.
Randle is an exciting prospect but this probably stops any idea of him going at picks 4 or 5.

Did Len have a similar thing last year, there was talk he could go top but he ended up at 5.

What a shame. Would have been nice for everybody to be healthy to see how everything played out. I wonder what this does to his stock. Top 5 still a possibility? Will it scare teams away?

I wonder if he has a promise from some team, because otherwise it seems like the height of stupidity to get elective surgery a few weeks before the draft.

  Randle dropping to 10 was never very likely and still isnt, but if this reduces his stock even 10% this summer then it makes it more likely that a team like the Lakers would be willing to trade down with us.

  If I was the Sixers I’d focus less on moving from 3 to 1 where you’ll probably get Wiggins or Parker anyway and try to move up from 10 to try and get Randle.

May not be true. Reports from his mom say that he is not having surgery, and that he worked out for Orlando on Monday and is currently working out for the Celtics. I’m inclined to go with his mom on this one.

Sounds like the NBA front offices that have Randle’s medical records believe he should have the relatively minor surgery now instead of risking a worse foot injury in the future.
