TenSecondTomParticipantCurrently watching Cibona Zagreb play in the ABA Final Four and I can honestly say Dario Saric might be the best big man passer on the break I have ever seen. I really hope this guy somehow gets picked by my Suns, he would fit perfectly in that up-tempo offense; especially with score first guys like Dragic and Bledsoe in the backcourt.

Memphis MadnessParticipantIs he a 3, a 4? A dreaded tweener? I will have to check this guy out.

TenSecondTomParticipantIt’s extremely hard to describe his game and compare it for a few reasons. 1. He has a unique skill set. 2. He still hasn’t fully developed his game. So as far as is he a 3 or 4 in the NBA I think it will depend on how the team envisions him and how he develops. If they would rather him develop an outside jumper and work on his foot speed he will be a 3. If they want him to work on his post moves he will be a 4. What can be said though is that he’s 6’10 225 lbs he’s grabbing rebounds at an impressive rate and he has the skillset to grab a board and start the break going end to end with the ability to make the pass for the score.

PHXSUNDREAMPICK13ParticipantI hoping he can rebound. Suns need a rebounder so bad. Would have easily made it into the playoffs with better rebounding. Every box score had Morris or Plumlee getting 7 or 8. Wish list this offseason for the Suns…
1. Make good decision with Bledsoe. Sign him only for the right price. Otherwise sign and trade. Backup guards are pretty good in G. Green, I. Smith, Barbosa, and A. Goodwin
2. Make a bid for K. Love. He can R E B O U N D! 2015 picks and Morris Bros trade can make it happen
3. No K. Love? Sign P. Gasol. He can r e b o u n d! Championship experience too.

TenSecondTomParticipantI think Phoenix will get either Love, Gay, or Hayward… I hope they could find a way to get Love because I would not want a lot of money tied up in to either Gay or Gordon. If Love is off the table, I think signing Pau to a team friendly deal would be a great second option.

TenSecondTomParticipant21 Points (3-7 for 3), 15 Rebounds, 6 Assists, 5 Turnovers in a big upset vs Red Star to secure a Euroleague spot for Cibona next season and a trip to the ABA Finals this year. Also important to note that it’s 40 minute games and assists are not given as generously in the european leagues. He did miss game clinching free throws and had some bad turnovers to give Red Star a chance to comeback, but Cibona wouldn’t have had enough star power to beat Red Star (Charles Jenkins, Demarcus Nelson, and Ivan Radenovic are some notable players) without Saric and Blassingame’s 27 point effort.

Rip255I made a post last week saying Saric was the most NBA ready player and a Rookie of the Year candidate and got negged like crazy. I’ve seen him live too and he has a great all-around game and better athleticism than your average Euro. He’s a phenomenal passer too.
I compare him to a more productive and athletic Kyle Anderson or a more physical Toni Kukoc

he_gets_bucketsParticipantThe problem is we have only seen him play in a European basketball setting. We dont know how he will adjust to the more uptempo, much more physical, more athletically demanding NBA game. I’ve watched him play and he blew me away, he looked like a really fluid scorer, he blew by his man not with pure speed, but quick, intelligent jabs followed by a blow by step in the opposite direction. The problem is, his jumper isnt knockdown, 10/10 every time yet, and I’m not sure a lot of the ways he is scoring in Europe will be able to be used against longer, more athletic guys in the league. Depending on the team he goes to he could get developed into a Hedo Turkoglu type point forward, or he could be reduced to a stretch 4 due to his inability to get by guys/defend guys on the perimeter. I really hope that he proves all of the negativity surrounding him wrong and blows up in the league though, I love watching him play he is so cerebral.

EspressoprodigyParticipantHe doesn’t play like Anderson at all, Anderson can fully run a team and handle a pick and roll. Saric would be the one rolling. He doesn’t have the handles in the halfcourt to be creative like Anderson, and his shot is not as good off the dribble. He is more like a Joakim Noah type of passer, or a Marc Gasol, with better handles and faster. He is also very sound and fundamental in the low post, and in general. Should develop into a nice player while bringing a punch of potential.

pohani komaracParticipant23 points, 11 rebounds, 7 asists, 5 blocks for MVP of ABA finals leading Cibona in huge upset
evyone just thinks what he does not have, let’s start talking about what he does have

King CaluchaParticipantSaric’s style of play is something like a rich man’s Josh McRoberts with better transition game and solid 3pt shot.
That’s top 10 in my opinion. The way he sees the game… there are few players who can do as well, and all of them are point guards.

Lotto StudParticipantFrom his scouting report tape I’ve noticed that he is very good in transition. What I would like to know is can he thrive in a system that is not uptempo?

King CaluchaParticipantAt this point I’d take him over any other SF or combo forward outside the top 5. Yes, over Cleanthony Early, Rodney Hood, Jerami Grant, McDermott and others.
This is not the typical soft euro who can only shoot from 3pt and is usually compared to Dirk. While, I don’t think Saric will ever be a primary ball handler in the NBA, coming to the league he might be one of the best passing bigs in the league, probably 2nd behind Lebron. Saric putting up 12, 7 and 5 looks achievable on his rookie season.

TheLastWordParticipantI would be interested in hearing from those who have seen him play extensively. You can’t get the whole picture from a few youtube highlights. Going by his adriatic league stats though, he has a high assist/turnover rate, and he doesn’t have a reliable three point shot.

here is full game from semifinal, hope somebody will upload finals
he makes lot mistakes because he is agresive in doing things. he will allways have lot mistakes but will do more good than damege. he is that kind of player
btw., since matt janning, dj strawberry, andrija zizic and coach spahija left cibona manny were hoping cibona will get 2-3 wins and stay in league. but that enebled Saric to take leadership and since then he averaged 19,3 pts, 11,6rb, 3,8 asists, 1,2 stl, 1 block per game takeing cibona to big upset finals

tidhoParticipantThe concerns are he doesn’t finish well, turns the ball over too much, and doesn’t have great range on his jumper. The flip side is he does pretty much everything else really well.
Taking that skill set in totality, he doesn’t seem like the kind of guy you can just plug in to an NBA team. If you’re going to take Saric you better have a really good plan on exactly how he’s going to be used of this guy is going to dissapoint.
