Suns PG Goran Dragic has just been named the NBA’s Most Improved Player.
Will get a link to show when I can.

WELL Deserved. Has a legit shot at the All NBA 3rd Team too.

I cant argue against Dragic winning the MIP award, but his teammates Eric Bledsoe and Gerald Green could both be justified getting the award also.

Bledsoe and Green’s numbers saw dramatic increases along with their roles. Dragic has been a solid starter for years although he still improved his game.

Dragic played like a star the whole year and was the key reason his team was in contention for the playoffs in the stacked west. You could argue his teammate Gerald Green deserved the award too. Also, their coach Jeff Hornaceck should’ve been considered for coach of the year but Popovich is hands down the best coach of this generation.

Bledsoe barely played half the season so clearly that wouldn’t be justified. I thought Anthony Davis should have won the award. He missed 15 games and his team didn’t make the playoffs so I guess that is why they gave it to Dragic. Goran was certainly more aggressive this year and shot better from 3 but I don’t think he was truly the most improved player. He averaged 1.5 more assists last year despite his higher usage rate this year. He played great don’t get me wrong but I just see the Brow as the hands down winner.

Davis was a 20 and 10 guy who lead the league in blocks. Nobody has done that since Dwight Howard in 08-09 when he took the Magic to the Finals. Davis improved his PER more and had more win shares than Dragic. They took account more of an MVP factor than a MIP factor in my mind because it was obvious it was Davis to me.

I think Drummond should of gotten a little consideration…  I didn’t hear anyone mention his name in MIP talks.  I think the reason him and Davis didn’t get much considered is players in their second year are expected to make big improvements, but the award should include all players.

Yeah Davis went from 13 and 8 to 20 and 10 and leading the league in blocks. He went from solid starter, to superstar. Dragic went from being a solid starter to being a star, but not quite a superstar, not a good enough passer to get that designation.

The thing with Davis is that his leap was expected, but Dragic’s wasn’t, so it’s getting less consideration, but he’s improved more than any other player this year. I’d say Gerald Green, but this season for him was just a slightly better version of his run with New Jersey, now Brooklyn, a couple years ago.

Dragic was good last year. If anyone kept an eye on him or owned him in a fantasy team knew he put up 16ppg and 9.5ass after the all star break last season.

Not saying they deserve to win but no one has mentioned:

MIP Lance Stephenson, Andre Drummond or even Blake Griffin. Check out their stats. Not to mention Blake did great when cp3 went down injured, leading the Clippers to their best ever season.

You could also mention Anthony Davis
