TFCParticipantI could see the Bucks going for Wiggins/Parker, but no way Orlando and Utah pass on Embiid.

fito91ParticipantI had them pass on Embiid because they have Vuc. If Orlando took Embiid in this scenario, would they trade Vuc or just play one of them out of position? Something else? Just curious

Moon RiverParticipantYES. CJ Fair in the second. I think he is a sleeper and will stick in the association for a bit.
I am a bit uneasy with Lavine and Ennis in Chicago. I think they go big physical presence with one of those two picks.
However, I have never done a Mock myself, so cannot complain too much about yours. Well done!

fito91ParticipantThanks for the feedback! I only set the picks for the 1st round, but I’d still slot Fair in the first half of round 2.

fito91ParticipantOooops! I forgot to mention that this was only a mock draft for the 1st round. I didn’t do anything with the 2nd round. My bad guys.

fito91ParticipantIf I set the picks for the 2nd round Napier would definitely be top 40. I’m still hesitant to throw him in the 1st round. I could see OKC take him at 29 instead of going point at 21 with Micic. Would be interesting pairing former UConn teammates Napier and Lamb in the backcourt off the bench.

SwatLakeCityParticipantI don’t like Payne in the lottery. Yes, he has improved a lot over 4 years in Michigan State, but I think he was projected as a lottery pick his freshman year, then dropped significantly because he didn’t show up as promised. Now that he has finally grown, his stock has increased, but certainly not back to lottery status. I think he goes mid-first to late first round. I think I have him at 19 to the Bulls, but he is not going in the lottery. And also Stokes is a little high too, he’s more early to mid second round, but not a first round lock like you have him.
I can see Utah going with Randle and the Magic going for Exum, but with Embiid still on the board no way either team passes on that kind of talent. The Magic especially would’t mind having another player similar to Dwight on their team, even if they already do have Vucevic. They could easily slide him to the 4 and have Embiid play the 5. Not a bad combo either. Vucevic is more offensive man in the middle. so Embiid being a defensive man in the middle, Vucevic and him actually complement each other very well. If the Bucks don’t go for Embiid, make no mistake about it the Magic will take him. He is not sliding out of the top 3 no matter who is picking. Not every team drafts for need. Some teams take BPA regardless of position.
I also can’t see Utah taking two SF’s. I can see them taking one, but not two. With their second round pick, they might go with a backup point guard, or a back up 4. Remember the only players that are on their roster next year are Burks, Burke, Favors, Kanter, and Evans. They certainly can’t compete with that kind of lineup so they need not only a 3 but also a 4, and some nice bench players. Certainly they will do a lot of work with that roster in the offseason via FA signings and trades but they will also do alot of work in the draft. So they’ll use every draft pick they have and use them well, that means no stash picks, and no picks of the same position. I think the Jazz will be looking to fill up the 4, 3 and the point in the draft. Those are the positions of most need, the other needs can be filled up in the offseason, but not the 4, 3, and a back up point.

fito91ParticipantIf Vuc can shift to the 4 , Orlando would take Embiid for sure. I just wasn’t sure if Vuc could make the move or not. They’d have a dominant post presence with Embiid and Vuc.
I said it in an earlier reply, but this was just a 1st round mock. I should have mentioned that in my initial post. Had I of made picks for round 2, I would have given Utah Semaj Christon at 34.

Scrooge McDuckParticipantI can’t see Embiid slipping that much. Team need doesn’t matter as much as you make it sound.
I think Hood will go earlier. The Cavs and T’Wolves could use him.

R.JLewisParticipantorlando will go for a shooter with their 2nd 1st round pick. i would say mcdermott if hes still on the board even though i dont like him much due to the fact that i think he will struggle in the NBA game. one thing that will transfer is his shooting and having a shooter coming off the bench will help due to the magic laking great shooters

Kevin6CDParticipanton this site has sources when they’re replying to a mock draft post, like they personally know for sure what a team is going to do.
