No surprise to me. Tough to say no to a guaranteed top-3 selection and the caaaash for one more year of "amateurism" .

Memphis MadnessParticipantWhen everyone said that Jabari Parker would be one and done, we all believed them. We just didn’t think it meant that he would lose in the first round.

vulture711ParticipantI’m as relived as hell. We didn’t tank for Smart or Exum

WITNESS2014ParticipantJust saw that on Numbers Never Lie. That’s good news for teams drafting in the 5 to 10 range, means another good payer can slip down.

CavsFan07ParticipantTremendously worded by what seems to be a very intelligent, yet humbled young man.
Great article and best of luck to Jabari in the next stage of his life!

fito91ParticipantAs a Bucks fan, I am soooo relieved as well. You know the Bucks are going to get bent over by the commish in the lottery. Just need to get in the top 3 so we can get 1 of Wiggins, Parker, Embiid. I guess at 4 we can still grab Exum or Randle, but I don think they are on the same level of the top 3.

machu46ParticipantAs a Bucks fan, the fact that we’re guaranteed to have Wiggins, Embiid, Exum, or Jabari available when we pick is exciting as hell. I’d prefer the first three, but Jabari will likely be very good as well.

DaGuywhodidurmaParticipantIn the last 10 drafts the 3 teams with the worst records have only had 2 or more of them pick in the top 3, 3 times. So 7/10 times only 1 team in the worst 3 has picked top 3.
Good news is that the top overall pick had been won by one of the 3 worst teams 5/10 times.

machu46ParticipantRight, but Milwaukee is guaranteed the 4th pick at the very least, which means that one of the four guys I mentioned will be available.

TarHeelRavenParticipantHe obviously loved his time at Duke because the decision was a tough one for him, but you can’t turn down millions and playing against the best athletes in the world to live in student hosuing and eat ramen noodles for another year.

LindseyParticipantLol how Jabari gonna say in one paragraph that his dad was an NBA player, then in the next talk about having to use milkcrate hoops and not having money for shoes. Come oooooooon.
On the real though, good kid, and I hope he does well. I’d still take him at 3/4 though.

220ParticipantI agree it seems like a gross exageration, but guys didn’t proportionally make as much money back then playing in the NBA. Another thing is Jabari is one of seven kids so it’s certainly possible that money was tight.

thatdude44ParticipantKid is so refreshingly humble and deserves every thing that’s about to happen positive in his life. Great talent but an even better person and that’s what going to make him alot of money. Good decision on entering the draft, I think he’ll do fine.
