I’m a huge celtics fan and im pumped for this draft like Danny Ainge said I think that the Celtics are gonna let up some fireworks this offseason. I wanted to see what you guys think are ideal trade targets for the C’s. In my opinion, I think the three postions that we need most are Centers(rim protector), SG’s(if we don’t sign AB), and then SF’s. So guys lmk if you think these draft ideas are realistic.

With our first pick I am hoping that we pick Embiid. He is the perfect center for us he is a true center with size, Fav is our only true C, he can get up and block shots and rebound, great two way player, ect. I can definitly see Rondo and him playing well together.

With our second pick I hope that we get lucky and draft Kyle Anderson. He reminds me of Paul Pierce, he can rebound, pass, has an improved J, and he makes his teamates better. I was thinking if he does well for us consistently then we could possible package wallace with green in a trade and make him the starting SF.

So what do you guys think? Am I dreaming or realistic and who you think the C’s should pick or should we package everything and go all in for Kevin Love?lmk

As a nuetral fan, I love watching Celtics on draft day. No-one wheels and deals better than Danny Ainge.

I love watching them mess with Bill Simmons emotions as he’s trying to do coverage of it on ESPN and the Celtics pull of a huge unexpected trade.

Ainge already come out and said he doesn’t like any of the prospects this year, and since there will be plenty of GM’s that do, he’ll get great trade value for that early pick, and mid-1st-round pick.

If I was to guess, Celtics aren’t thinking rebuild through the draft. They’re thinking a new big 3 of proven veterans that can take them straight back to the top. They have the assets, cap space and they’re the Celtics!

Otherwise they would have shopped Rondo by now right?

If the c’s were too trade their picks I would like the c’s to sign Monroe for long term I think he would be a big steal. I think he would be in for a breakout season if he signed with the c’s mainly because this season he is sorta hiding under jsmove and Drummonds shadow but in the c’s he would have a chance to shine with no true center besides fav

That would be highway robbery giving up such a high pick for Monroe.

You’re exactly right, they would have delt Rondo if they were trying to rebuild through the draft.  I don’t think Danny Ainge meant he doesn’t like any of this year’s prospects though.  He was more stating the obvious, no rookie is gonna come in and make a lottery team a contender in their first season, not even Lebron James did.

I’m anxious to see what he does, I think he wants to put a great player with Rondo while he is in his prime so I wouldn’t be surprised if he packaged these picks.  I just hope he gets the right player because passing up a high pick in this draft could be costly down the road.

Danny Ainge saying he doesn’t like anyone in the draft is just a smoke screen. He isn’t the type of guy to rave and say how much he likes a player until he drafts them, but if he could get Parker who a lot us believe is the guy he wants he’ll be happy.

Why they didn’t trade Rondo is lkely because they are waiting for the right offers, and because he is coming off of his first major injury so his stock isn’t as high as it was yet. Danny Ainge has set the bar high saying he wants two first round draft picks for him

Also it is rumored a trade for Rondo was attempted with the Kings, but Rondo made it clear he wasn’t going to resign with them. Look it up Rondo Kings trade online.

What’s really crazy to think about is even if they did move their highest pick this year for an established player, they still have soo many what are going to be great picks from the Nets in the future.  Danny really got over on the poor Nets.  They will be cashing in on that old team in no time.  Once Garnett and Peirce go I see the lottery in Brooklyns future.  Long term money tied up in Joe and D will.

I’m a Celtics fan myself, and I would love nothing more than us to draft Embiid this year. He has a ton of potential, he fills our biggest need, and he would fit in great next to Sully and KO.

With our second pick, I think we could use some shooting on the wing. I’d like to see us be able to grab either Stauskas, Hood, or Young.

I think if the c’s are looking for a so then they should go for stouskus. I haven’t really seen him play a lot but I have heard good thing about him and I think he and rondo would work well together

To get Embiid would take lottery luck. But not too much. Surely he doesn’t drop past 2. At present the Celtics have a 25% chance at a top 2 pick.

Imagine the trade value of Embiid. Tantalising

The Bucks actually have the 25% chance to get the first pick right now. The Celtics chances are 13.8 being tied with Orlando right now.

I think/hope Danny will take whomever he can get a deal with for another SG. Eric Gordon or Arron Afflalo could be had for the right price. Take whomever those teams wants add in Wallace to even it out. Both teams want to rid themselves of their current SG, reward them, then take Cleanthony Early at 18. Gordon/Afflalo and healthy full season Rondo could be a great back-court. AB? Well bring him back off the bench as the 3rd guard, a role which could suit him, since he continues to be injured, but can still change a game defensively when healthy.

I agree with them trying to make a trade, regardless of where they end up post lottery. Love is the rather obvious choice, although as a Wolves fan myself I hope he doesn’t go. They might try and target someone else if they can’t get Love, though I don’t really have any candidates in mind.

If they were to stay and draft, well, it’s pretty much BPA isn’t it? Realistically they don’t seem too attached to anyone on the roster, including Rondo. So whether it’s Parker, Embiid, Randle, Wiggins or even Smart/Exum, I see them just taking it and running.

And with that in mind it’s tough to pick the second guy, since so much depends on who comes first. But I could see them aiming for a shooter. Maybe Payne if they go wing, or someone like Stauskas if they’ve gone big. I haven’t checked the stats but I get the feeling they could use some more shooters on the wing.

As a Lakers fan, I would love to see Boston trade for K Love.  Only because K Love was a Laker fan growing up and I feel he would jump at the chance to do them over and leave for LA in free agency. 🙂  I know I would.

I’m really excited to see how Boston’s roster shakes out between now and the start of next season. I despised Boston during the Big Three years, but I’ve been a huge Butler fan since they almost knocked out Mike Miller’s Florida team in 2000. I love Brad Stevens and Danny Ainge together. They have a lot of decisions to make:

What do you do with Rondo? Does he want to be there or not? He is an UFA after 2014-2015 season. He’s 28. In his prime. He seems healthy.

Ainge is on record saying that Avery Bradley is a part of his future plans, but Bradley hasn’t been especially durable. He’s 23 and a RFA after 2014-1015. He’s also only 6-2, 180, which is not ideal size for a wing.

Jeff Green has resurrected his career, but when Jeff Green is your leading scorer — at 16.6 ppg — that’s not a good thing. The focal point and identity of the team needs to change.

They are 22 games under .500. Ainge and Stevens are not the kind of guys that I can see tolerating that. They have a good-sized market and a city that draws FAs, not to mention a storied franchise.

They are right on the cusp of landing a top three draft pick. They are unlikely to land outside of the top five. Based on their roster, is there even a single position that can be safely eliminated?

Between trades, FAs, the draft, and decisions regarding players currently on the roster, I’m not expecting an under-the-radar offseason in Beantown. How long will a return to relevance take?

Big time C’s fan. I actually believe that Rondo can be an important member of our team for the next few years, at least I hope. Our strategy should definitely be BPA with the first pick and that will determine the second pick. I would love for the lotto balls to work in our favor so we can add Wiggins, but the more likely guy would be Dante Exum. Looks like a GREAT player from the little that I’ve seen of him. He’s projected as naturally a PG, but able to play SG. With Rondo at the point, Exum at 6’6" could slide to the SG. With the second pick, GOD PLEASE we need a rim protector. Cauley-Stein looks like he will be available mid-to-late first round and fits our needs very well. The best shot blocker in the draft and at 7′ has good size.

    Ideal lineup:

    PG – Rondo

    SG – Exum

    SF – Green

    PF – Olenyk*

    C – Cauley-Stein

*I prefer Olenyk over Sully due to size and shooting ability. Also, I think Olenyk will have improve a ton in th offseason and I’m hoping he adds some muscle. And cut the hair, you look like a damn female.
