Pelicans trade Eric Gordon to the Nuggets for Danillo Gallinari.

-Two guys that are injury prone that teams can take risk on. Nuggets Get Eric Gordon to pair up on the perimeter with Ty Lawson and Wilson Chandler.

-The Pelicans get a SF that can shoot and spread the floor for Tyreke Evans and Anthony Davis, along with Ryan Anderson doing the same thing creating all kinds of room for Evans to do pick and roles all day.

Knicks trade Iman Shumpert and Andrea Bargani to the Pelicans for Jrue Holiday.

-The Knicks get Jrue Holiday a past all star and a huge upgrade that the Knicks need at PG?

-The Pelicans get Shumpert and Barganis expiring contract. Shumpert matches up well with Reke and can guard quicker PGs so Tyreke can guard the shooting guards. They go into next season with Tyreke Evans,Shumpert,Gallinari,Ryan Anderson, and Anthony Davis

Jrue Holiday will remain a Pelican I’d say.I think that they build around Davis, Evans and Holiday.

I actually don’t mind the Gordon-Galinari swap. It would free up log jams on both teams and make each one more well rounded, at least on paper.

The Holiday trade was terrible though, no way the Pelicans would ever do this. If they had a team of Holiday, Evans, Galinari, Anderson and Davis why would they need an expiring contract? The holes would already be filled so why trade an all-star PG, just to get cap space next year? Then you would have to use the space on aquiring a new PG anyways. Cap space isn’t valuable unless you have a big hole that needs to be filled. If anything, they would trade Anderson for a better C.

I like both trades. Holiday is too ball dominant a PG to pair with Evans and Davis. Davis can create offense by himself.

Don’t like the Holiday trade and this won’t happen and makes no sense to me, who should play the point for the Pelicans? Davis and Holiday will be very good in the pick and roll and there is no need for changes. Aside from his absolute inability to draw fouls Holiday is really good and a well rounded player.

I highly doubt the Nuggets take on another massive contract in Gordon when it was reported many times they might trade Faried who needs to get paid soon. This trade frees up others like Wilson Chandler and Tyreke but for financial reasons I don’t like it for the Nuggets.

I think Holiday and Evans can coexist but Holiday would have to learn how to play off the ball and be effective when Evans is on the floor. Jrue has skills that translate to playing off the ball its just can him and Evans get on the same page.

Never really understood why Holiday isn’t playing off the ball from the start.
