Zach LaVine at 12?

 Lavine is an extraordinary shooter, but what else does he do well?  Poor finisher at the rim, not yet great with the ball in his hands, bad defender.

LaVine has tons on potential and looks like he could develop into a serious playmaker down the road, plus he has the athleticism to get open for his shot.  He just hasn’t yet developed his tools to the point that he can be consistently effective.  LaVine has all-star potential, but he is years away from being an effective NBA SG.

the kid can play there’s just not alot of mins in the ucla back court.if he goes back next year he has to dominate.his best decision is to go to the nba.his game is better suited for the pros.would be the steal of this draft and with workouts he could be back in the top 10.

 LaVine is all potential at this point. A team taking him HAS to know that it will probably 2-3 years at the very minimum before they see something out of him (kind of like Lance Stephenson).

I’m a UCLA fan. I’ve watched him all season. He started of hot. He was in running to become a top-pick in 2015. At one point, this site had him at #1 in 2015.

Then everyone moved him over to 2014. Early in the pac-12 season, he was still showing that potential. But then it dropped off a cliff. Literally I’ve seen nothing from Zach since I don’t know when. 

If UCLA is able to go on a deep run in the tourney, it needs Zach to make those outside shots. If that happens, then I could see him entering at the moment. But there’s no indication right now that is coming.

 So while I think the "he’s not ready for the NBA" argument is dumb (+75% of the rookies are not ‘ready’ for the NBA….and he can always polish his game against pros in the d-league), I think his best option at this moment would be to return to school, work on his game, and aim for that top-10 pick in 2015. There’s a chance he slips to the end of the 1st IMO in this years draft.

 I am not even going to get into why Zach Lavine is ranked that high, because you clearly have not seen him play enough or you would see the INSANE flashes of potential, which to the detriment of many teams is what the draft is all about.  To a more important point on age/potential DeAndre Kane is that low, because of 1 simple fact….he is playng against kids 5-6 years younger than him.  The dude is a stud, and also 24 years old (25 by the draft), which is a big deal.  Honestly I will not lie I love DeAndre Kane and think he is the best player on Iowa State which is saying something b/c someone else on his team won Big 12 POY (Ejim is good don’t get me wrong), but I defintely have waivered my opinion on all his heroics and stats knowing he has 6 ears of basketball experience on some kids and the level of maturity and composure that goes with being 24 instead of 18 is absolutely insane.  Kyrie Irving is in his 3rd season in the NBA and is 22 years old…that is a HUGE deal.

If he gets stronger and works on his handle then he will be a special player. If he gets drafted its probably best if his team brings him along slowly, I cant blame him for coming out this draft because there is a chance his stock could decrease because pf similar players to him in next draft.

My money says he’s coming back to school. Anderson will depart, but Jordan Adams will stay, Norman Powell will stay, Lavine will stay, Kevon Looney will come in, and they’ll be REALLY good next year. I really want to see them go wire-to-wire with Florida tomorrow.

 Lavine is a rare talent he does everything that makes you scream out that guy is the next so and so.But he only shows flashes of his possible greatness and it will be smart of him to keep working on his game with his dad,they train together i have seen you tube videos of them training working on his basketball skills together.Very nice player.
