Land of GrantParticipantAaron Harrison… Does anyone else think this guy could be a productive 2-guard in the L? Got good size and athleticism, solid scorer who can put it in the hole a variety of ways – obviously the hustle is a question, but that’s coachable, although I know he’ll never be a great motor type guy. He also had a great game against K-State in the 64, 18 points of 6/10 shooting. I think people were too quick to dismiss him, as is often the case with guys who get a ton of hype.
Andrew Harrison is a different situation because he’s been branded as a PG, but if he switched to the 2 a lot of the same things could apply.

WolfRobParticipantI’m not a fan of his demeanor or basketball IQ.
the potential is obviously there though

Lotto StudParticipantOut of all the UK Fr. Prospects I like Aaron the most and like I’ve stated recently he’s the better twin, more versatile then Andrew which shows when subbing in for him to play the 1. I kind of get a Derek Anderson feel with Aaron though.

strobox88ParticipantI always found it funny how everyone acknowledges Aaron as the "better" twin when it was Andrew earlier in the season. I’m not arguing who’s better but I think Aaron gets a pass because he gets to play off the ball while Andrew (who is more of a 2-guard like his brother) has to run a young Kentucky team’s offense.

Lotto StudParticipantMy take on Andrew a week ago…
"I like his halfcourt play but at times during the break when he needs to push the ball full-tilt he doesn’t. Also when he needs to take his shot he pump fakes every single time. The pump fakes kill me the most because it’s a wasted move for him."
I honestly cannot envision him as a 2-Guard off that mentality alone.

ReactionParticipantHe has a ton of potential. I like his game, but often I catch myself wondering if he is making the correct decisions with the ball. Personally, I’m still unsure whether he would decide to return to Kentucky. I don’t know how much his draft stock could improve if he were to return for a second year. Kentucky perimeter defense is really terrible though. Wichita State has had quite a few wide open 3-point attempts. That has really caught me by surprise today.

imAboutDatActionParticipantyou dont know how much his draft stock can improve if he returns for another year?? he’s not exactly a 1st round lock right now. on some mock drafts he’s not even on the board.
the twins didnt start the season like expected, but they have been really playing better as of late. one more year of consistent play of how they have been playing down the stretch and they can possibly work their way up to the lottery next year.
another way at Kentucky would do WONDERS for his draft stock and overall game.

Land of GrantParticipantThe decision making ability for both of them is clearly lacking, but, again, the talent is there.
Andrew in particular needs to be more aggressive and preemptive for making plays.

Chilbert arenasParticipantI’m not saying he can’t be a starter but I envision both of the twins as a first guards off the bench in the NBA. Neither seem like full time starters to me. Aaron has impressed me since he was deemed the “lesser twin” but it’s a function that he’s known his role all along. He can score but neither twin has blown me away with their athleticism. In fact they’re quite average athletes for the NBA, but Brandon Roy came off that way at UW and proved us all wrong at the combine.

imAboutDatActionParticipantAndrew actually stated before the season that Aaron is better than him. the reason Andrew was ranked higher and viewed as the better player, is simply because he plays PG. a 6’6 PG is more rare compare to a 6’6 SG.
they’re both combo guards, which helps Aaron value but hurts Andrews alittle since he’s not a true PG.
they both are really talented. they have been coming on as of late and i expect both to be 1st round picks next year.

ReactionParticipantI agree with this. I really don’t see Andrew as a point guard/playmaker. While playing an average of 31.2 minutes per game, he’s only averaging 3.8 assists. The reason why that is a very disappointing stat to me is that he has quality bigs he can dish to like Randle, Cauley-Stein, and Johnson and he also has a shooter in James Young.
