strobox88ParticipantI just saw Dick Vitale on SportsCenter bragging about how good Kentucky has played in their first game of the tournament and expects them to beat not only Wichita State, but Louisville as well. Where is the hype from Kentucky coming from after their abysmal season? I watched the game and both Kentucky and Kansas State shot bad from all three statistics (FG, FT and 3PT). I don’t see Kentucky getting past Wichita State let alone Louisville with that offensive effeciency. To be fair, most teams have been shooting terrible from 3PT and especially freethrow percentage. If more free throws were made in general, there would be less upsets this year in the tourney.

thatdude44ParticipantThey’re young! I think Dicky V sees the potential and feels like they can compete with anyone. Yea they had an up and down season but when they’re aggressive and locked in, they are tough to beat.. Having Randle on your team isn’t bad ether.

tomdukes69ParticipantIt took a while but they are playing better. Took FL to the last possession. Wichita hasn’t played anybody. This will be their stiffest battle. UK is battle tested Mich St, Lville, UNC, Baylor and FL 3 times. Hello. And finally Randle is a BEAST

jwall1ParticipantThey are a great rebounding team (especially offensively). The Harrison twins have been playing better and if Randle dominates the game, they have a good chance to go far…

TarHeelRavenParticipantKentucky will be the most athletic and physically gifted team Wicihita State will have faced this year by far. Kentucky showed toughness and heart in their comeback against Florida but came up just short in the SEC tournament title game. I can’t stress enough how the experience of Wichita State will play a huge factor in this game. These guys went to the final four last year and are battle-tested. The Harrison twins have improved throughout the course of the year but have been prone to take terrible shots and make bad decisions with the ball in key moments. I think Kentucky will battle and play their hearts out but will come up just short of the more experienced Shockers.

Dale WorthingtonParticipantAbysmal?
Kentucky is ranked #14 in the land according to KenPom.com, the best ranking metric on the planet.
That’s far from abysmal.

Dale WorthingtonParticipantBPI has Kentucky ranked as the 8th best team in the country and Sagarin has UK ranked as the 14th best team.
All objective metrics have Kentucky ranked in the top 15.
That’s a 4 seed at worst, son.
Clearly they can play, even though the majority of their freshmen have experienced growing pains this season.
