What are some times when you called something in ball from a mile away?  Tom Crean sucks, and I figured IU to finish at .500 and they finished one game above, and I was summarily blasted by critics.  When have you proven your sports critics wrong?

Why do you hate Crean so much?

The guy is a flat out a-hole. Now, all D1 coaches need to have a little of that to just survive the coaching carousel that is college sports. BUT Crean takes it too far. Tom Izzo had to call him up and tell him to cool down because he was hearing the horror stories of how his former assistant coach was treated his players and staff. Tom freakin Izzo! This is the same coach that gives his players football pads and then does rebounding drills. If Izzo thinks you need to calm down, then you need to calm down.

There are plenty of people who are good coaches and not good people, Frank Martin, comes to mind immediatly. Crean is one who fits that bill.

Don’t speak your mind on here or you get negged. Ol lord don’t be right and bring it back up, you’ll DEFINTELY get negged.

“You’re dumb for thinking that, no way that’s going to happen”

    Then you right…

“Don’t be an a**hole and throw in our face, jerk”

    LOL… Terrible…

That’s exactly right, though. What were you expecting? Nobody is impressed when someone throws a lot of darts at the board and one of them happens to stick.

A bold prediction I made shortly after Brad Stevens signed with the Celtics was that Tom Crean would get fired, and IU would hire Brad Stevens as his replacement. Not sure of the time frame for this, but it’s definitely something I could see coming true. Honestly I think the main thing standing in the way of this is that I think Brad Stevens can be one of the rare college to pros coaches who is actually successful.

@Cameron you made a damn good guess, and I would have agreed with that had Stevens not magically went to the pros.

What were the horror stories that Izzo had to call about? I’ve always thought Creen was an okay coach, never knew about that side of him.

@SpartanGlory he got into a few cursing matches with opposing players and coaches.  That lets me know that you aint got it.  If you’re top dog, why does something a puppy say make you mad?  Just ignore it and keep going on knowing you’re the shit.

While still at Marquette, Crean was running thru not only assistants like tissue paper, he also had a streak of 10-15 (sorry, can’t remember the exact number) straight recruits transfer out within their first 3 years. The Dominic James, Jerel McNeal and Wes Matthews class were the first non-transfer seniors Marquette had since like Travis Diener.  Apparently, Crean absolutely plays favorites and has an abnormally large doghouse that several players at once can fit into. Has lead to some very unbalanced locker rooms durring his coaching tenure.
