IhateusernamesParticipantGriffin is always taking people down to the ground like that. He is gonna get popped by a few people.

For_Never_EverParticipantI don’t watch many Clippers games, but thats the first I’ve seen Griffin fall down on someone like that. It just looked like he was trying to over power the guy for position to get the rebound then loss balance to me. Because his weight was to the side of Tucker.

For_Never_EverParticipantTucker maybe invertedly tripped Blake. Look at his leg extended as Blake is trying to box him out. Also Blake Griffin was killing them scoring more then 30 might have had something to do with it.

King CaluchaParticipantI don’t want to defend PJ Tucker. He got deservedly suspended but.. man, I would have done the same if Blake had all his weight over me like that…

cozmojimParticipantToo bad Marcin Gortat isn’t the commissioner. I could have watched that for another 15 or 20 seconds.

kazamParticipantI dont know if you guys have heard what Karl Malone said about Blake a few weeks ago but he should take him up on the offer. Basically, Malone suggested that the next time someone cheap shots or gets in a scrum (like this one) with Blake that he lose his mind and assert himself. Malone even offered to pay the fine, for a guy like Blake he need’s to eventually stand up for himself, he continually gets punked by guys just hitting him.

XYRYXParticipantInteresting view of this whole Blake Griffin flagrant foul victim but flopping freak of nature mountain of an athlete.
It’s really true that Blake gets "punked" like you said by others in a heavy kind of way. It’s a known fact that he is often involved in flagrant foul situations on the receiving end of a cheap play.
But there must be reason why other top players don’t get hit with such a frequency. I don’t really remember one play where KD is beeing flipped in a manner I still remember. I think Blakes very special and kind of introverted cockyness doing nothing but steering after big plays or questionable highlights is an aspect of his media personality image that doesn’t fit him very well.
When I look back at big time dunkers like Kemp or Vince in his prime, they all screamed, roared and yell their hearts out when they hammered one down. Blake thries to play it cool and DeAndre gets more excited as him sometimes about one of BG dunks.
I would like to see another Blake more often. The one that is on his 23rd game in a row scoring 20 or more from the field and is more involved in the game.
I think this comment about what Malone said should be taken seriously. Malone was a Rhino and when he sais Blake should strike back to stop this stuff he knows what he is talking.
Have any links on that story? I would like to know what else Malone said about Blakes game!

FastAndFuriousParticipantMan PJ Tucker would kick Blakes ass in a one on one fight.

King CaluchaParticipantThere are even some 6-footers who would kick Blake’s a**
He’s got pogo stick legs and he has a lot of muscle, but I think he’s mentally weak…

tbest23ParticipantI noticed the Morris twins were both front and center and the rest of the Suns were…just kinda there. Those two Philly boys are beasts in the weight room. I saw both of these kids with those long legs, parallel squat 425 for reps at KU. I don’t think these NBA dudes should try and fight because most can’t, but I do like when teammates stick up for others as Matty Barnes would attest to. Blake sure seems to be involved in these types of wrestling matches more than others though. If he pops a dude, the word will spread.

ncballerBlake wouldn’t be a part of these scrums if he wasn’t a giant d00sh on the court. He first elbows PJ to the chest on his postup, then throws him down to the ground and looks at the ref acting like he is entitled to a foul call. I would have done the same thing if I were PJ Tucker.

DolanCareParticipantGriffin gets picked on, but in this case Tucker was right to hit him. Blake was just laying on him.

BasketBalAllanParticipantNormally I would say this sort of behavior only hurts your team and your reputation, but I haven’t enjoyed seeing someone punched this much since Rick Fox took one on the chin.

tuck243Participantwhen it comes to the little things on the basketball court. I personally think he’s doesn’t have a good basketball IQ that’s why he does stupid stuff all the time. For instance, when him and Bogut got Techs because Bogut pushed him. If you look at the replay Blake caused the contact and kinda did some weird stuff and went under Bogut’s arm. It’s like Blake acts as if people are just suppose to move because he’s stronger than them or something. I see this a lot when he’s backing down someone. Dude is literally like Jerome Bettis on the goal line trying to forcefully move people out the way. The issue here is the refs don’t call an offensive foul. You simple can not just drop your shoulder to back someone down. Which brings me to my next issue with Blake.
For all of the love Blake is getting for his improved play, he is still terrible in the low post majority of the time. If he has to back down the defense its either a terrible shot or a turnover. I rarely see a good shot from him with his back to the basket. I’m currently working on a project which shows the amounts of times this season he has his back to the basket and the shooting percentage from there. So far its awful.

machu46ParticipantGrantland already did a breakdown of that. Blake is 5th out of 79 in the league in scoring on the block (only 79 guys eligible because Grantland required at least 50 post-ups). The guys ahead of him are LeBron, Brook Lopez, Boris Diaw, and Dirk.

tuck243ParticipantBlake normally turns and face up on the low block. When he does that, he shoots a high percentage. This is similar to seeing Amare with his back to the basket. Once its done I will post on here. That article is misleading because Amare healthy had similar stats down there, and I can find anyone who believes he has a post game.
It was one particular game against OKC a few weeks back on Sunday. The Clippers went to Blake almost 5 straight possessions on the low block. 2 resulted in turnovers, one was a foul, one was a terrible shot, and one was actually a great hook. I think majority of his problem down there is he simple tries to move too fast with his back to the basket. When truthfully you have to take your time on the low block. A summer with The Dream will fix this tho, "hopefully"..

machu46ParticipantI guess. It’ll be interesting to see what you find, but I’m not sure it really matters if he scores well with his back to the basket if he scores as efficient as the best players in the league from the post regardless.

tuck243Participantits really relevant in the playoffs and versus the top teams in the league. He simply won’t have those faces up opportunities that he’s getting now. It’s always been this way for him though, this isn’t nothing new. I’m sure he was ranked in the top 10 last year too.
