I made profile on this site last year and made several post that I thought were pretty accurate and believable… One being that the Philadelphia 76ers should draft none other than Doug Mc Dermott!!! I know he didn’t come out last year but that was my opinion and I stuck behind it. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I WAS BLOCKED OF THIS WONDERFUL SITE! So to WHOMEVER BLOCKED OR BANNED ME IM BAAACCCKKK!!! And you’re very welcome for the projection!

Mock drafts on this site don’t reflect team needs until after the lottery, so it’s basically a top 60. Nice try, Dork.

I still made the prediction first… Regardless of what and when a mock reflects Michael Sam, you get the Will Smith SMACK!

The 76ers should be looking for running mates for Michael Carter Williams, athletic guys who can finish, McDermott would be much better suited in a slower system where he can come off cuts and hit open threes, or rotate onto smaller guys and get into the post. He isnt a fit for the high octane offense in Philly

I agree with you BUT!…. Philly currently has NO shooters on the roster not 1. Unless they go Euro in the draft I am picking Dougie McBuckets alllll day!

As an Omahan, I think this would be an awful destination for Doug. I think his stock will keep rising because of his otherworldly play right now, he will get to the combine and come down to earth a bit because of his lack of foot speed/athleticism (like it would even matter for that type of player), and then when we get to the teens of the draft, we start seeing teams that might move up or trade picks because he will somehow still be on the board at maybe 15. Just a prediction..

Yo, I’m also an Omahan. McDermott is out of his mind right now, but I have a hard time believing that he’s going to translate to the NBA as well as some people think he will. I think he goes 15-25 in the draft. The Sixers are most definitely looking for skill AND athleticism. I think its either Parker or Wiggins with their first pick, and either Harris/Lavine/Vonleh/Hood/Payne with their other lottery pick. We’re really resembling OKC so far with our rebuild, and I’m loving it. We’re just lacking a go to superstar, that we hopefully will pick up in this draft. I’m looking forward to a super athletic, defensive team that hopefully will stick together into the future.

Shooting translates better than any other skill to the NBA.

There are shooters on the board when Philly are picking that better fit their needs. A guy like James Young, Rodney Hood, or even Gary Harris, though he isnt quite the finisher that they are looking for to run on the break with MCW. Whilst Dougey Buckets is probably the best shooter in the draft, so was Jimmer in his class, but he didnt go to the right team. The team that drafts Doug needs to have a system that he can fit in or he wont be effective at the next level. A team like Denver could really use him, as could Cleveland(Assuming Deng leaves). I could also see Chicago being a good landing place for him if he just falls out of the lottery. But Philly just isnt the right fit.

As of today Philly has NO identity! So for anyone who says he doesn’t fit our system is silly. Of course we’re a running team, it’s a squad full of 20yr olds that’s their only way of competing right now and thats to try and out run our opponent plus that was so 2yrs ago/Iggy era.I’m from Philly and all we wanna do is win! So I say go for the players who have the talents, skills, experience and competitive edge to do so! We gotta switch it up

    and it hasn’t changed…

With the first pick, you take Wiggins/Parker.  I am leaning towards Wiggins right now.  I’ve seen him do some stuff that I really like.  On one possession, I forget against who, he shot an airball.  The crowd was ripping into him "airball airball", he came back the next possession and swished a J in the crowd’s face.  You also see in Wiggins highlights where the crowd was taunting him in a HS game and he dropped 54, and made a "3 point" sign as he was leaving the building.  I also saw when Parker went off on them Kentucky-Kansas, Wiggins was asking to guard Parker.  When he finally did, I saw him literally shut down Parker.  Parker was altering all his shots, you guys know what I’m talking about, when that guy who is better than you hovers, gives you some butterflies, thats waht happened to Parker when the nationalTV challenge came to guard him.  I also saw highlights from the Randle-Wiggins high school game where Randle was playing hard but he had that look where he knew he was not the best player in the house, that must be a strange feeling for Randle.

So Wiggins has a lot of I guess dog in him that you can’t teach.  I think he’ll project like MJ, at first an athletic phenomenon in the NBA that has the potential to add to his game.  He can’t coast, but he’s also trying to mesh with a team.  When he wants to make a play as he’s getting more comfortable this season, where he is realizing he has the most athleticism out of anyone in college, h’s starting to take command of the floor now, just a matter of time.  The shot foundation is there, it will come, a la Jordan and Lebron, who were not always the best shooters.  I only question his handle but I also think he’s still growing into his body.  He needs to get with Lebron, work out less like a track star and use his core and legs more.

Parker, will be a very good NBA player because he knows how to play.  Makes the right pass.  He should be touching the ball every possession for Duke.  He has the explosiveness down low of Randle, and he’s a very good shooter.  I think he’ll be fine in the NBA defensively.  Dirk’s fine aint’ he, so Parker will be fine and its not like Paul Pierce is a stud defender.  He’s a little pudgy but thats okay, he was in a funk (probably because he was tired), but he molded his game.  Its not his fault that he can’t be a 3 in NCAA, its Duke’s recruiting.  If Jefferson is the best big man on your team, you all did a bad bad job.  Parker is doing whatever it takes to help his team, even if he has to play big man.

But you take either one of those guys, and then with the second pick I still think Lavine over Hood or Young.  Hood for some reason lacks athleticism to me.  Young has the look of an NBA player and he will be solid.

So you’ll definitely get the 3, and I think they should draft the 2 in Lavine.  They’ll be the most athletic team in the NBA.  Carter-Williams easily with his size gets into the paint at will.  He just lacks a mid-range game.  I think Parker will be an incredible mid-range player.

Unless you get Vonleh (which they will not), you address the 4 through FA.

I think a lot of Sixers fans on here agree on here.  We all have the right idea.  I’ll take Drummond if you don’t have to overpay.  Otherwise, you wait for Love.  Love if he sees this nucleus and the Sixers ball out next year, Love could come here, I don’t care what y’all say.

Other than that maybe you move up and draft Capela or get Payne late in the first round.

First off I’m from Omaha as well and haven’t meet a real Sixers fan since Allen Iverson was playing here.  So it’s good to know we got some legit Philly fans.

Secondly McDermott would be a solid fit in the up-tempo offense that Coach Brown uses.  Especially if he is being used as a trailer 3.  Creighton does a good job of using all types of screens to get him looks, sort of like a Richard Hamilton ala Detroit Piston days.  He’d flourish in this offense and unless someone has quite the fall in the draft then I’d be all for the Sixers taking McDermott.  He’d give you excellent scoring off the bench to replace Thad or even as your starting 3.  It’s just going to depend on who’s there.

By the way the Pelincans aren’t looking so hot so chances are this pick could move up to that top 7 range.  Just hoping and praying we don’t get screwed by the lottery balls.
