TRACYSPOONParticipantI don’t understand why LeBryan Nash isn’t in the first or second round of the 2014 or 2015 NBA mock draft. He has NBA talent written all over him. He is playing out of position right now, but has a nice handle, face up jump shot, nice hops and getting better. I think you guys just flat out missed this one!

joecheck88ParticipantI actually think he isn’t playing out of position. He’s just finally in the position he needed to be in to be successful. He’s just undersized but his attributes are best around the rim as a combo forward. His perimeter skills are lacking and that’s why he is playing that spot. Ok State is trying to win and that means putting Nash at the forward spot is helping. I think he definitely has a place in the league but it’s going to take some time and work on his jumpshot and perimeter D. Then his handle after that. Good player but best as an undersized forward in college.

Chilbert arenasParticipantI agree with Joecheck, the reason why he’s been successful this year is that he’s gotten into that 10-15 ft range and has stopped trying to make plays on the perimeter.

juves4783Participanthe doesn’t have the size to play pf at 6-7 and doesn’t rebound, averaging almost the same amount as marcus smart and markel brown. he doesn’t have the ball handling and can’t defend at the sf. and c’mon, what nba team wants a sf that has shot a career 23% from 3-point land including only taking 6 attempts this whole year (making 0)?
travis ford moved him to the post for a reason. he can’t play the 3.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantI remember everyone was super high on him coming out of HS and i could never understand why. He had good size for HS but no real skill. If he could developed a nice jumper from 20 he could make the league but right now, i see him as a D-League guy.
Also, i recall everyone saying that Shabazz was the next Kobe. We have to evaluate the talent these kids are playing against before we go saying they are the next big thing.
Being a WVU fan, i was excited to get Keton Miles, who was the other stud on Nash’s HS team. I was under the impression that they just dominated everyone they played and were far and away high level D1 players and could even push to the NBA. Apparantly someone scouted them wrong because Miles was 6’6 and pegged as a SF, duh, but looked like he had never played on the wing in his life. Nash was the same way, pegged as a SF, and while was more comfortable than Miles on the wing, he was still very out of place.
Scouts and coaches did both of those kids a disservice. Scouts blew them up too big and coaches didnt push them to develop all around skills. Their coaches couldn’t see past HS and do what was best for them long term.

JoeWolf1Nash is a mid 2nd round caliber draft prospect. He’s pretty big, athletic, strong, and can defend. I feel he brings enough to the table to be considered in the 2nd round where contracts are not guaranteed. I think he kind of projects as a 3 and D player without the 3….A Mid-Range and D player?
In my opinion, he’d be wise to go back to school for his senior year and work on his range. He’s a better shooter than a guy who shoots 0% from downtown ( he’s only 0-6 on the year ) but if he could even break 30% next season he’d make himself more appealing. He doesn’t quite have the mean streak as a Chris Singleton, and he shouldn’t be drafted as high, but he brings a lot of those same qualities to the table, and I think he’d be a valid option in the 2nd round…especially for a poor team who is wanting to fill out the bottom of the roster with low salary guys that can step in and play roles.

tbest23ParticipantI like his game but I really think he chose the wrong school to develop himself. He reminds me of Ron Artest when he was at St. John’s. A little bit of a tweener like Larry Johnson as well. He definitely has the mean streak about himself and pouts a bit too often for my tastes. I think he needs to find a niche and play to that more. If he can become a lockdown defender and still develop his offense game, he’ll go second round possibly late first. I agree with most of you though in that I think he’s a potential steal if he keeps developing.
