festar35ParticipantSo news has broken that LaMarcus Aldridge will be out for the next week or so and to top that off Meyers Leonard is also out. This leaves Lopez and Robinson as the big in Portland with Freeland also injured.
So what do the Blazers do to acquire (trade/sign) another big-man or two to help them out.
Personally I think that a guy like Jordan Hill could be very useful and obtained for a reasonable price from the Lakers, he could come in and play both C/PF spots and offer a bit of low-post scoring and low post D, even once Aldridge returns.
What do you think the Blazers front office should do? (The guys I can’t see traded outside the obvious of Batum, Aldridge and Lillard would be McCollum and Lopez)
On the flipside this opens up an opportunity for Lillard to be the leader and increase he attempts. L.A takes 21 shot a game and Lillard is averaging near 21ppg on 16 shots. I can see his attempts moving up towards the range of Curry about 19 and him taking on an even bigger role, how do you think he will respond?
Batum will also get more than 10 shots up over the next couple of games as well.
I know it is only a week or so and I am not panicking, but it will be intriguing to see how the front office, Coach Stotts and the players adjust/

tblazer_NZParticipantA ten day contract would be good about now but the roster is full with 15 players. C.J or Robin are to valuable to trade and would be a huge hit to team chemistry. Unless Allen Crabbe, Will Barton or Victor Claver is traded I think the Blazers will stand pat.
Dorell Wright and Victor Claver can be stretch 4’s but I don’t like not having a back up 5 behind Robin. Thomas Robinson will need to be the back up 5 and I am not looking forward to that.

tblazer_NZParticipantDepends what it takes to get him. there has been rumors about acquiring him before these injuries occurred.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantSo basically, you want them to shake the roster up and make trades to acquire a player that will only get 5 minutes a game when their bigs are healthy? (Which is always)

festar35ParticipantWell I stated Lillard, McCollum, Batum, Aldridge and Lopez as untouchable.
This isn’t just a guy to plug in for 5mins on e the starters are healthy. Any PF/C would have a great oppurtunity to move past any other big on the depth chart as it is so weak there.
I am merely asking the question do they go for the patch job or actually now fully realise there weakness and address it.

tblazer_NZParticipantSorry I miss read. I thought that only Lillard, Batum and Aldridge were untouchable.
I did not neg you. Wesley Matthews is also important to the team and it should not be taken for grated what he brings to this team. I wouldn’t include him in a trade that is short sited.0 - Posted on: Tue, 02/18/2014 - 9:15pm #872890

Bmore_DCParticipantIm sure Philly would love a combination of Leonard, Barton, Thomas Robinson, and/or picks for Hawes.
