Here’s a list of 2014 All Stars who failed to make the Rising Stars Challenges either their Rookie or Sophomore years:

    Paul George

    Lamarcus Aldridge

    Kevin Love

    Joakim Noah

    Roy Hibbert

    Demar DeRozan

    Joe Johnson

And that is just this year’s all stars alone! I’m also so sick of already seeing these 2013 Re-Drafts. Well if somebody made a 2010 Re-Draft in 2011, just about anybody would have had Landry Fields over Paul George. Compare those two now, EXACTLY! Many would have even had Wesley Johnson over him. As a Kings fan, I am pretty disappointed in Ben McLemore so far. However, its still way too early for all of these people to say the Kings have wasted another draft pick. Not saying McLemore will be as good as those guys I listed above but the same also goes to guys like Anthony Bennett, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope or any other guy who got left off the roster.

didn’t think missing the rising stars/rookie sophomore was that big a deal. Some guys get off to a slow start to thier careers, get drafted to a bad situation etc.

Sometimes there are only a couple of All-Stars in the entire draft and there are a few guys that are out of the league.  I personally think the NBA needs to go ALL IN on a REAL minor league system.  Teams like San Antonio and Chicago have been bringing guys up or signing 10-day contracts all season long due to injury.  The Lakers found a guy from the NBDL to run the PG spot after 5 guys who started for them at the PG spot (including Kobe, strangely) went down with injury.  Each team can have their NBDL team run a similar system and get quality minutes, especially if they are stuck with some bad contracts on their "big league" roster and are playing guys from an investment standpoint and limiting development.
