Who would you rather have going forward?

    Noah: 11.7 ppg, 11.4 rpg, 4.2 apg

    Horford: 18.6 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 1.5 bpg

this is tough because Noah is elite defensively and Horford is money on offense but has some shortcomings defensively. This is amazing to think that two guys who played together in college could have such successful, albeit different styles, of careers.

I’d probably take Noah over Horford because of the defensive/hustle ability that he brings. By the way, the differing playing styles of these two was one of the main reasons why Florida was able to win back-to-back titles. I wish there were more teams like the 2006 and 2007 Florida teams. Very special group.

As a Florida fan, that was my favorite college team of all-time.

In the NBA, I would rather have Horford, however, I always kind of wished they’d get the chance to play together in the NBA, too.

Noah.  Defensive monster, better rebounder, better rim protector, great passer for a center, gives 110% every night.

i think this question is reliant upon what position horford is able to play.

id take horford over noah if he was playing PF rather than C, as i see him being more versatile with greater range and ability at the pf. i believe pf is a more natural fit to his style and he would be better suited to defending pf’s. it would also be an advantge if the team decided to play some small ball packages, and he can slide over to the C postion with minimal loss.

if horford is a C id take noah, he hustles every minute he plays and is a very good defender and passer, who understands the team game. (he had a triple double today)

another factor of course is horford’s health, but ill assume he’ll eventaully return to somewhat near his previous form.

Depends on what the rest of your team looks like.

If you have scorers and no defenders, you go with Noah.

If you have defenders and no scorers, you go with Horford.

If you can somehow get both, you have a perfect combination down-low on both ends that fill eachothers weaknesses and can play off eachothers strengths.

Noah. He’s the heart and soul of the Bulls and has developed into one of the most uniquely talented centers in the game. Last night’s triple double was just another example of the player he’s become. He guards the pick and roll with the best of them, is possibly the best center running the break, is the best passing center in today’s NBA, and although his shot is something you tell young kids not to emulate…he’s actually decent from mid-range now.

He was a little out of sync out of the gate with all the adveristy Chicago was suffering, but his Jan and Feb numbers are at another level, and IMO he’s the catalyst behind the Bulls being competitve again.

    Jan – 13.6 ppg 14.1 rpg(4.5 offensive) 5.8 apg 1.9 bpg 1.1 spg 46% FG

    Feb – 13 ppg 12.2 rpg (4 offensive) 5.7 apg 1.5 bpg .8 spg 51% FG

Horford is your prototypical PF who will score more than Noah ever will, but Noah gives you not just one but multiple X-Factor type traits with his leadership, post passing, etc…Horford is very good, but I think Noah does so much more despite not being a guy who’ll probably ever score more than 15 ppg.

i would take Noah. he is the type of player who you would love as a teammate but hate to play against. he just provides all kinds of intangibles to a team. would always give 110% no matter if its the regular season or the playoffs. this guy is pure heart
