Idk know if its me, but it seems like the pistons are better with the Drummond/Smith combo. Also I notice that Josh spreads the floor(shoots a higher %) and even a better post up option at pf. As a team they tend to gel better due to the faact that they like to run the floor, which monroe doesn’t have a hard time finishing fastbreaks. Monroe does seem to be out of  loop, and more of a defensive liability with either both Drummond or smith in the game… The pistons need to gain an identity. If there identity is hard nosed defense then,  monroe needs to go. I understand that he’s younger than smith and big men with footwork come a dime a dozen but I just don’t see monroe working out in a pistons uniform.

What I would do is wait until the off season and get a sign and trade for him. But  if by feb. 20 deadline I would see if the CAVS would like to trade Deng for Monroe and Villaneuva(something along those lines). It’s also been whispers that Deng would not resign with the cavs.  both teams would have a chance to resign the rented players  if worked out (if monroe works out at Center, and Deng works out at SF)

I definatley think Moose should be traded, but the Pistons need to get some value. Deng and a Pick at the least, or Bennet. Let’s hope Joe D gets this right and trades Monroe for a guy that can 3 and D. If we they trade Stuckey and Monroe they should be able to bring back some better fitting talent.

Smith is probably the better fit at the moment since he has a more all around game than Monroe. I hate to see us lose Moose though because he is still young and could develope that mid range game. In any event, if we do end up trading Monroe the Pistons need a very solid return at SF. I mean like border line all star, because that’s what Monroe will be over the next 5 years.

Also, the thing that irks me about Smith is his shot selection and need to dribble the ball up the court. If he could be more efficiant i would love him on the Pistons.

Would it be kinda funny if Detroit trade Charlie V for JR and MWP from New York. New York would get rid of JR while getting an expiring contract. Detroit use Villanueva to get shooters on the wing, but may make them the most disfunctional team in the look. You’d have Jennings, JR, MWP, Smith, and Stuckey all making bad decisions. In a video game this would help the Pistons, but in real life I think it’d be a cluster fcuk. Just a funny idea I had.
