Was just wondering what everyone thinks his ceiling is.  With his play as of late I wouldn’t be surprised if he turns out to be a paul george type of player.  They both are very long athletic wing players who can hit the three and dunk on someone equally as well.  On defense tross is becoming the raptors (6th best defense in the league) lock down defender as he will always guard the opposing teams primary wing player.  Comparing george’s stats from year 1 to 2 they look very similar tross’. Does anyone think he can have an outbreak in the next couple years and make the jump to the next level like george did?

A very good 3rd option 15-16ppg or good 2nd option 18-20ppg on a play-off team. He is also a good defender as well.

To me I think he’ll be a Jason Richardson type on offense, with also the ability to play above average wing defense.

Spot on!  Jason Richardson is probably where he’ll end up.  This Raptor team could be very scary in 2 seasons.

He’s not exactly long to be honest, as his wingspan is the same as his height (6’7 in shoes with a 6’7.5 ws). I don’t think this will effect his game though, because he gives good effort, and is still a decent defender. I don’t think he will be an all-star, but he should be a good complimentary piece going forward, kind of in the mold of Jason Richardson or Richard Jefferson. Both players were good scorers who played decent D, and I wouldn’t be shocked if you saw Ross put up similar numbers to those guys if he can improve his ball handling. He also can throw down like those guys too!

believe it or not… I liked him more than Beal and Waiters.People thought I was crazy for having him in the top 10, I had mixed feelings about him freshman year in the NBA but coming out of college, he was my Favorite player in the entire class and I always thought he would be a stud

Everyone always says Jason Richardson…and that is certainly the player that comes to mind because of their long range shooting and elite athleticism.  He looks just like a young J-Rich.  I dont know if he can be a George type player.  First thing there is…George was in a great situation and he has some wonderful players around him, some that helped in his development and some that blossomed along with him.  If the Raptors can get the type of squad, personnel, and culture then Ross would surely benefit and likely flourish.

To me I think he could fall in between J-Rich and PG……if……he develops his midrange game.  A strong midrange game makes him into a complete offensive player.

For me, he really puts just how weak last year’s draft class was into perspective. Compared to the last draft, he’s like the rich man’s version of Ben Mclemore (who people said was the most talented player in last year’s draft).

I can understand the jason richardson comparison,  but i think terrence ross has the potential to have an even more complete floor game,  he has shown the ability to score from anywhere on the floor,  and his ability to defend some of the better offensive players in the game.   He is still really young,  and is still working his way up the ladder in terms of go to guys on that raptors team,  with lowry and derozan leading the way.

there are a couple things im looking at  in his game,   and its those intangibles,   he is already watching a ton of tape, and still learning the game,   it has yet to really slow down for him, and  that is when he will shine.   i am not sure, but sometimes he seems a little held back.    you dont really see those outburts of emotion,  maybe thats just who he is,  but i have a feeling that there is a level of intensity that Ross has  that we have yet to see, and will probably come about  when he really gets a good understanding of the game, things slow down, and his confidence soars.

All the physical tools are there,  can be a dead eye shooter,  hitting 10 triples against the clippers,   and can throw down on the best of them.     Now there have been players  who can go out and win the dunk contest, and then hit 4 triples in a game,   but just because someone can dunk and shoot a 3, does not automatically mean they can do it all on offence,  T- ross has a very nice mid range game,  very good hitting those floating jumpers from about 10 feet,  gets great hang time, and good concentration,  and often can make them when getting fouled,  (you know, that michael jordan floating jump shot that was so deadly.)

Now im not saying it is for sure going to happen, that he puts it all together and can become a very good second option on a winning team, (which is still saying a lot, d wade is a second option,  so is westbrook, so lets not take 2nd option as someone not able to be the best)

Jason Richardson in his prime was very good, even put up a few 20+ppg seasons. Paul George is a top 10 player in the league.

I know he just scored 50 something, but I think we are getting carried away a bit here. I don’t think Ross will be as good as these two….

Young J-Rich was one of my favorite players. Wish he would’ve gotten an all star appearance at least once.

Nope not even close. But he has finally strung together some consistent play which is all Raptors fans have been asking for. He is more of a Courtney Lee kind of player.
