So I know this is kind of off topic, but this is a draft site and I know everyone talks about prior drafts all the time.

I just feel like no one really talks about how unbelievably good the top 15 of that draft was:

    1. Cam Newton

    2. Von Miller

    3. Marcell Dareus

    4. AJ Green

    5. Patrick Peterson

    6. Juliio Jones

    7. Aldon Smith

    8. Jake Locker

    9. Tyron Smith

    10. Blaine Gabbert

    11. JJ Watt

    12. Christian Ponder

    13. Nick Fairly

    14. Robert Quinn

    15. Mike Pouncey

You’ve got: Arguably the best pass rusher in the league (Quinn), arguably the best overall d lineman in the league (Watt), a Pro Bowl QB (Newton), two of the best receivers in the league (Green and Jones) a stud corner (Peterson, a stud tackle (Smith), two other great pass rushers (Smith and Miller), two very solid DTs (Fairly and Dareus), a pro bowl center (Pouncey), an okay QB (Locker) and two awful QBs (Gabbert and Ponder).

I’ve never seen a draft with so much talent at the top. I have no clue how this draft would be re-drafted because there were so many different kinds of players. But any team that didn’t reach for a QB basically got a good player.

It really is unreal how good all of those players have been so far outside of the QB’s not named Cam.

Dalton and Kaep were both 2nd round picks. The original poster listed the top 15 picks and commented on how well those players have played. They’ve all been good besides Gabbert, Ponder and Locker although Locker was solid at times this year when he wasn’t hurt.

Lol it’s no coincidence that Minnesota and Jacksonville the teams that missed with their picks has awful records last year.
