Tonight will be the first time I get to see Embid and Wiggins play a whole game.

What am I likely to find out about these two players?

Is Embid really the 1st pick with such limited time playing basketball, or is he a college phenomenon?

Is Wiggins just deferring or is he just not a trully special player at all?

This game wont be judge and jury but what am I likely to see?

You’ll see that Embiid potential is off the charts. He is a bit raw, but that is expected from a guy that has only been playing basketball a couple of years. But you’ll see that is potential is unreal and that’s probably why he will be the #1 pick in the draft. You’ll probably see Wiggins be a bit too passive. He will show flashes of what he can be, but he just doesn’t seem aggressive enough right now. Having said all that you’ll still see two special players who both have a chance to be great.

Well, Ive seen all the games so far… It will be a good test for the frontline tonight.  Embiid hopefully wont get pulled away from the basket by Austin. I can see Ellis guarding him and allowing Embiid to stay inside.  Embiid has been pretty consistent since big 12 started.  He will get his.  He will also make a couple moves in the paint that make you go wow.

Im really curious to see how Wiggins reacts to getting benched.  Last game was the first time he didnt show the flash of brilliance he has.  Hopefully, he comes out aggresive and attacking.  He is a little to used to being able to do whatever he wants and needs to learn how to react to what the defense gets.  I expect to see wiggins explode this game

Tharpe is really the x-factor though.  When he is clicking with his teammates the team is pretty much unbeatable when he shares and takes care of the ball.

Embiid is the real deal.. 7 footers that move like gazelles dont grow on trees.. he has amazing hands and footwork for a freshmen, He moves way better laterally than Oden ever did.. he will be a defensive headache in the league.

So far Wiggins attacking the basket… I like that, but he really needs a respectable jumpshot and he’ll be a killer in the pros.

Embiid has convinced me. Definitely top 3-4 (depending on needs).

Some things about Kansas…..when it comes to Embiid yes he has the potential to be really good even great. But I think with the NBA there should be an unspoken rule about big men especially in todays game. The dominant skilled big is disappearing. Embiid has all the tools physically and talent wise. But being so raw and only a few years of competitive ball under his belt he needs to stay one more year develope physically skill wise and mentally. He still doesnt play mean and aggressive amd have that im going to take over gene. The NBA is not very patient with young big men and they quickly if they dont dominate in two years turn into a trade dumby. In college you practice alot and coaches work with you…in the nba you learn by playing…which is hard.

When it comes to Wiggins another year in college could mean millions and millions more over a NBA career. Reason I say that is he played 4 in high school and AAUand in school didnt see much size.

So wiggins is learning how to play the perimeter and one more year with coach self learning the perimeter would help him dramatically. Another thing with wiggins is he doesnt take over a game also. Smart called him out and he shot like 5 times and had like 3 pts. Any other great would attack all game. He doesnt and his athleticism alone wont get him by in the league. He needs a better deeper skillset.

Also I think coach self should run more. Wiggins Embiid Seldon Ellis and Tharpe are athletic fast leapers. I see 90+% of there offense in the half court where skill is defenately needed. When your top two players lack that and your young that can limit you. And i think it could harm him recruiting wise in the future. Top athletic recruits will see he isnt running and the biggest receuit in a while is now projected third in the draft….even lost his pippen rep amd is now compared to rudy gay. Obvipusly self is one of the best coaches in the country by far….but Kansas needs to run more.

More running would make Wiggins and Embiid maybe look better, but from a development standpoint, halfcourt offense is good for them, which is also very important in the NBA (not solely relying on your athletisism).

But I see him getting pushed around in the NBA early on. Guys in the L are going to be very physical with him. I like his jump shot and he does seem to make his mind up quickly on the block. He must demand the damn ball! I usually say go but staying to me does not hurt bigs as much IMO. He could use another year of experience. NBA is faster and the players have seen it all basketball wise. He must get stronger.

Mr. Hookshot I agree on the halfcourt development comment because it will help them develope. But i think running more would male them nearly impossible to guard. Turns wiggins into a weapon make the big guarding embiid have to run and forces the opponent to play small which helps them dominate the boards. Syracuse Arizona and Kentucky are the few teams to be as athletic talented and versitle as them. But development wise your right.
