TONYDABOSS77ParticipantImagine if the Thunder had kept all of their draft picks the last few years. Now I knw that keeping these guys would impact heir record & change their draft position so I’m just going to go to the 2011 draft, right before they became a legit contender.
2007- Durant, Jeff Green
2008- Russell Westbrook, Ibaka
2009- Harden, Rodrique Beaubois
2010- Bledsoe, Quincy Pondexter
2011- Reggie Jackson
We know eventually they traded Harden because they didn’t wanna pay the luxury tax (a stupid move, if you care about having a great team, pay the tax. I cnt remember the last time a team won the title w/o paying the tax). But, lets say they kept Harden.
They have Bledsoe, Pondexter, Jeff Green, and Beaubois. They could’ve flipped Bledsoe for the post presence they needed (while also getting rid of Perk’s deal).
*I knw guys developed based on the situation they were drafted to & playing time, etc etc etc. THIS IS JUST A HYPOTHETICAL*

TONYDABOSS77ParticipantAnd I think Steven Adams has a chance to develop into a starting big, but they passed on the Greek Freak to draft him. Having the Greek Freak allows Durant to focus on just the offensive side of the ball. Sam Presti has made some good moves, but he doesn’t get enough attention for missing on some of his moves.

CrossyboyParticipantSometimes there are some obvious misses, like Shelden Williams over Chris Paul, or Anthony Bennett over, well anyone! But to say that not drafting Antetokoumpo was an obvious mistake is just wrong.
He’s played fantastically and has lots of teams regretting passing him, but he was an unknown prospect playing in the Greek 2nd division. The list of over-hyped foreign players who’ve flopped is much bigger than the list of unknown foreign hyped players who’ve succeeded. Most of the successful foreign players have been known for a number of years, or have been stashed away in the late 1st / 2nd round. I’ve practically never known such a young prospect come out of nowhere and have such an instant impact.
I see no problem with looking at their picks after 2011, as they would be within a place or 2 of where they’re picking now. Adding Adams helps this team immensely, but you’d need to flip one of their players for a centre like you suggested, though they’ve got Green or Bledsoe they could use.
