     espn.go.com/boston/nba/story/_/id/10297979/boston-celtics-trade-jordan-crawford-marshon-brooks-golden-state-warriors

Haven’t seen a topic yet, so I thought I would start one. My appologies if there is one already. The trade was, and I quote, "The Celtics have traded guards Crawford and Brooks to the GSW in a three team deal that will send Toney Douglas  to the Heat and Joel Anthony to the Celtics and two draft picks to Boston"

Personally, I don’t like the trade for the Celtics; it helps the Heat, and second round picks aren’t that good, but I understand Crawford and Brooks aren’t the best players, so I guess getting some assets for them is decent. Ainge seems to be stock pilling picks, so it should be interesting to see what he does with them.

I think this deal is awesome for the Warriors. Crawford has really turned it around, and now gives them another scorer off the bench, and a decent ball handler to throw out there with the second unit. I like Iggy, but was very critical of the Warriors not bringing Jack back because he was an intregal part of their playoff push last year. Getting Crawford nullifies that loss to me now, and I think the Warriors are a legit contender now.

Heat saved a lot of money, and TD is a decent defender. He’s kind of like Norris Cole, so idk if that’s an upgrade, but maybe I’m wrong. Either way, he’s better than Joel Anthony.

Crawford will fill the void at the guard spot off the bench that Jarrett Jack left. I like it for GSW.

Heat save money but we all know they have to go through Indiana and Roy Hibbert isn’t going to be getting any smaller.

For Boston it opens up minutes for Bayless which makes me happy.

jack is a veteran who shot above average and managed a second unit for GS last year.  he also seamlessly shifted btw backup and starter when needed and played good defense for them.  crawford shoots a really low percentage, which mark jackson will not appreciate.  he is also not even an average defender and is joining a unit that is beginning to pride itself on its defense.  i know douglas wasn’t fitting in but GS would have been better off getting a big for douglas or a real backup PG.  bazemore might be the big winner in this deal.

Does this mean Avery Bradley is back to starting at the PG for the Celtics again? Ugh… I mean I want the Celtics to do poorly because I think they’re one of the teams that needs a top pick the most, but it’s just ugly watching him play the point. He hasn’t hit 5 assists in a game once this year and their only other point guard is Pressey.

Phill Pressy balled tonight with 10 assists..  Maybe he is an option if Rondo is still a long way off.

Good deal for GSW, the Heat have moved Anthony’s contract and given up maybe two second rounders to do so and add Douglas. The Celtics want to tank and have added a couple of picks which gives Danny Ainge more draft options long term but GSW have added some nice bench depth so look the real winners.

I actually like MarShon Brooks, he had a great rookie campaign for the Nets but fell out of favour and when Deron came over it ate up many of the minutes and possessions he was getting, but I think the combination of he and Crawford, whilst it doesnt completely suppliment Jack leaving, but helps to cover up the void on their bench after his departure. I hope Brooks gets into Coach Jacksons good books and can show more of the promise he showed in his rookie year.
