Jdean24ParticipantSelden was projected too come out next year after a slow start too the non conference season. With back too back games of twenty four against Oklahoma an twenty today against K-State is he regaining steam too come out this year? If so who if anyone do you think think his game resembles?

CameronCrazy11ParticipantFor Kansas’s freshman I think it goes like this:
Andrew Wiggins is going to come out this year almost for sure. Nothing is ever guaranteed as shown by Marcus Smart last year, but I think it’s a pretty a safe bet that he’s only playing one year of college ball.
Joel Embiid is looking more and more like a top 5 pick in any draft and could possibly emerge as the top overall pick in this draft. Players of his overall athletic ability don’t come along very often. I tend to agree with guys like Jay Bilas in the belief that he should come back for his sophomore season but can’t really fault the guy for taking the guaranteed money too. Either way, he looks like he has the potential to be the best center in the league down the road.
As for Wayne Selden, I really think it will all depend on Kansas does in March. If Kansas can pull off a long tourney run in which Selden gets a lot of exposure, I think he’d be smart to come out this year and possibly be a lottery pick. That being said, I think he’d benefit from another season at Kansas.

Jdean24ParticipantI personally believe Selden comes back too lead another loaded team next year for KU. I also believe I’m higher on Joel then you might be I see no way he slips out of the top 3 with his rapid development. Wiggins too me is the wildcard. When aggressive KU is a top five team an National title contenders but when he’s not they are just another top 15 team. A lot will be determined in the next week too ten days for these freshman. Baylor, Iowa State, Oklahoma State all very good teams with good talent. If they continue too impress I believe it’s possible Wiggins an Joel go 1-2. But I need to see more then one aggressive game in a row from Wiggins before I have confidence in that.

drpg913ParticipantWayne Selden has to look no further than Xavier Henry for his worst case scenario. He’s had 2 excellent games in a row and along with Wiggins seems to be playing with appropriate pace. The game is slowing down for both of them and they’re learning how to play with each other.
Selden’s should def comeback to polish his playmaking abilities. That will be what seperates him from Xavier and if you look at the current star 2 guards in the league(Wade and Harden) they have the ability to make plays for them selves and there teammates. He also must improve on defense where I’ve notied him struggle keeping his man in front of him even in these last 2 games.
Another player I would like to compare to Selden is Gary Harris. Harris came back after his freshman year and he seems to be better more confident than he was last year. He’s still generating as much if not more draft buzz this year in a stronger draft than he was last year
All of these guys would be better suited working on there games in college except maybe Julius Randle. But that first year its kind of hard to improve with all the stuff you go through preparing for the draft and all your rookie obligations before you play.
Wiggins: He can def improve on his ball handling and offensive footwork, playmaking ability for his teammates can also improve. He needs to be able to bring the ball up with out the fear of turning it over.
Embiid: His improvements will be made mostly by just adding another year of experience his feel fro the game is incredible right now but he doesn’t have the best instincts and decision making plus he can develop a go to move.
Selden: as i stated before needs to be a better decision maker, has to get quicker feet on D to keep up with the quicker craftier 2 guards in the league he also has to know when to shoot and when to drive.
Parker: Fitness is my biggest concern with him he needs to slim down and improve his quickness will make him much better on defense
Gordon: has to develop a post game or a handle so he can find a place in the NBA. He’s a great athlete but he’s no Blake. College will allow him to experiment both inside and outside offensively. Ths will allow im to find a defined position.

MopgrassParticipantI’ve been watching a lot of Kansas, but missed those 2 games. They have a lot to work with. Perry Ellis does great clean up, Wiggins is the transition guy, Embiid is learning post moves, and a lot them. However, they’re doubling Embiid and really need someone to hit the three to spread the floor and someone to drive to break down the defense. If Selden could be that guy, they’ll really get things going. The games I’ve seen, he drives and shoots every time he touches the ball. Looks like he’s making them now.
